WORLD AIDS DAY CELEBRATION

World AIDS Day takes place on 1 December each year. It's an opportunity for
people worldwide to unite in the fight against HIV, to show support for people
living with HIV, and to commemorate those who have died from an AIDS-related
illness.

The U.S. Government (USG) theme for World AIDS Day 2020 – Ending the
HIV/AIDS Epidemic: Resilience and Impact is especially poignant this year as our
HIV community has been newly challenged by, and often led the response to,
COVID-19 in communities around the globe.

The theme reminds us of all we can achieve together on the prevention of AIDS
related illness despite the fact that we are experiencing this pandemic…when we
focus on impact by delivering high quality, people-centered HIV prevention and
treatment services to those most in need, tackling stigma and discrimination. It
reaffirms the essential role of resilience, which enables individuals and
communities to meet the challenge of HIV/AIDS even in times of adversity.

There are lots of ways to celebrate this event, like conducting of lectures, , films
viewing, posting of flyers on FB page, wearing of red ribbon

The red ribbon has become an internationally recognized symbol for AIDS

awareness, worn by people throughout the year in support of people living with
HIV and in remembrance of those who have died.

UPDATES IN National Drug Education Program

Teaching & Non-teaching Personnel especially the School NDEP Coordinators

participated in the 10 Episodes of DepEd’s NDEP Webinar from September 8 –
November 17, 2020 ..every Tuesday 4-6 pm.. Wherein at the end of each episode
a participant will take the online quiz in Deped PDLMS.
DAPC WEEK

The Dangerous Drugs Board spearheads the celebration of the 2020 Drug Abuse
Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week with the theme, “Better Knowledge for
Better Care.”

Some schools from SDOI Pangasinan especially the secondary schools

participated in this activity through changing their profile picture with the theme
of DAPC frame like Buenlag NHS BKD was acknowledged by the Dangerous Drug
Board on their page for putting the DAPC week frame as their profile picture

Buenlag NHS BKD officers and members donated cash amounting to P5,000 to the
victims of typhoon Ullyses in Cagayan and Isabela

Sual Nhs BKD officers and members distributed school supplies for kinder and
grade 1 ( Project Kababata kalinga sa bawat bata)

Sual NHS BKD officers and members distributed Covid-19 essentials to the 4
elementary schools of Sual District..
