New CNC Option Process
• Software options for all new controls are activated by an “Activation File”
Uploaded to the CNC. Activation Files are ordered from GE Fanuc’s CNC
Options Team
• New controls supporting this new process include new hardware and
system software, and can be identified by system software series on the
following page.
• The new option ordering process:
• Customer outputs 3 files from the control,
• Sends files and a purchase order to GE Fanuc
• GE Fanuc Emails back the Option Activation file to be loaded into the CNC

• The option activation file is unique for each control, and cannot be loaded
into other controls.
• The option information in each control is now stored in Flash memory to
prevent accidental loss. When making a SRAM backup, be sure to also
include the option information (OPRM_INF) with the backup data.
• Tools Needed: FLASH or Compact Flash cards currently used for file loading
& backup will work across all control series. Laptop w/card reader.
Desktop/Tower PC may need PCMCIA card reader added for transfer of file
to memory card.
