1. Is Agrarian Reform in the Philippines a failure or a success?

I believe we can’t have success without failure. So my answer is that Agrarian Reform here in the Philippines is both a
failure and a success. If we try to look back in history, after years of colonial and dictatorial rule in the Philippines, the
People Power Revolution of 1986 installed a new government and led to the initiation of the Comprehensive Agrarian
Reform Program (CARP). Yet more than twenty years later, poverty remains high in rural areas and income inequality
remains a serious problem. Investments in agriculture have stagnated as CARP has had a discouraging effect and even
resulted in the decapitalization of some farms. Thus, the creation of jobs in the agricultural sector is hampered and poverty
incidence remains high, despite CARP. (According to my readings in the internet sir). But as to my opinion, I believe that the
Agrarian reform is not a complete failure because we can see that our government have been doing their part. Even our LGU
here in Negros are providing resources to landowners and farmers so that they can stand on their own. With this our famers
can now contribute to the other goals of development. After all, Agrarian Reform does not end in giving lands to the landless.
It needs public support that will enhance the effectiveness of the reform for it to become successful.

Explain your understanding about this quote

1. “Love what you do; live with intention; always learn; don’t forget to play.”

On my understanding, the quote is a reminder that we need to put passion on everything we do in our lives. To
live with intention means to have a concrete goal in life. Always learn, is also a reminder that there are lots of
lessons that we can learn in this life and the lesson may came from failures and mistakes. We just need to be
open in order to absorb such learnings. Don’t forget to play, for me the idea is that in this life there are ups and
downs and we simply need to get along with it and overcome those challenges with joy.

2. “Fail to plan and you plan to fail”

On my understanding, if you want to be successful in life you must have a plan and this is a very important thing
to do. Plan serves as a guide for me to be able to reach my goals and without it I will definitely fail as if I am
walking blind folded.
