CHAPTER V

CONCLUSION AND SUGGESTION

This chapter deals with conclusion and suggestion of this research. The

researcher presents the conclusion of this research which gives short description

and the result of this research. Then, the researcher also presents the suggestion

related to this research.

A. Conclusion

Based on the result of the data analysis of this research, it can be

concluded that the translation ability of the students of Class XI Science of

MAN Kota Kediri 3 is 62.14 and it is in category “Enough”. The description

will be presented in the page.

The first rank of the students’ MEAN score is Class XI Science 6 which

gets 72.23, it is categorized “Good” and it is the highest. The second rank is XI

Science 5 which gets 64.82, it is categorized “Enough”. The third rank is XI

Science 4 which gets 58.8, it is categorized “Poor”. The fourth rank is XI

Science 2 which gets 56.03, it is categorized “Poor” and it is the lowest.

The most category which is mastered by the students are lexical

adjustment, and then followed by addition, grammatical adjustment, and

adaptation. It means that the students are able to use lexical adjustment in

translating Indonesian sentences into English; while the students still get

difficulty in using adaptation in translating Indonesian sentences into English.

B. Suggestion

After the researcher presents the conclusion of this research, the

researcher will give some suggestions related to this research. The suggestions

are useful for the students and teachers. The suggestions are as follows:

1. For Students

The student should improve their knowledge of the concept of

translation well. The student should learn how to translate Indonesian

sentences into English by using 4 categories; grammatical adjustment,

lexical adjustment, addition, and adaptation. By having the knowledge, the

students will be able to translate Source Language into Target Language

properly.

2. For Teachers

The teachers can improve the teaching method in translation. The

teachers should teach how to translate Indonesian sentences into English by

using 4 categories: grammatical adjustment, lexical adjustment, addition,

and adaptation. So, the students can understand better how to translate

sentence for sentence properly.
