About: In 2017, Uday Khemka, promoter of SUN Group and Chetan Maini joined hands to
realize their shared vision of making electric mobility affordable and accessible to masses and
formed SUN Mobility. SUN Mobility is a joint venture between Maini Group and SUN Group.
This partnership brings in synergies of the Maini Group which is a diversified engineering
powerhouse providing solutions for intra-campus electric mobility, material handling,
aerospace and automotive precision products and the SUN Group which has global
investments in the range of sectors such as energy (oil & gas), mining, renewable energy and
new energy storage applications

Principles: Energy as a Service

Our approach of separating battery from vehicle and offering it on a ‘pay-as-you-go’ model
enables EVs to be financially viable for the first time. Swappable batteries address key EV
adoption issues such as - high upfront costs, range anxiety and long refueling time.

June, 2020 SUN Mobility has partnered with IOCL, India's largest oil marketing company.
IOCL and SUN Mobility have been working together to leverage the latter’s world class,
interoperable battery swapping technology aimed at electric 2 & 3 wheelers. This partnership
will ensure that this solution is accessible to customers at the same scale and ease as
conventional vehicles.
