Arcangeles 3rd Year Intro and Statement of The Problem
Introduction:
The number of modular learning courses in post-
secondary education and higher education continues to
grow rapidly. The number of students taking at least
one online course has increased by no less than 9.3%
each year for the last ten years, reaching an estimated
6.7 million in 2013 (Allen & Seaman, 2013). However, a
major barrier and the growth of modular learning
courses is a low retention rate across all types of
institutions.
In this study we may know the differences about the
modular learning in the field. In which they will
perform different task and pool their outputs together
to comply with what is demanded from them. Parents
working from home will now have additional work
providing module support or guidance in their
schoolwork. It is difficult adjusting meetings and
other tasks with online and module classes. And
considering that at most times, several students in one
family could use only one computer to print out their
modules. Both teachers and parents will need additional
workshops in the conduct of modular learning to
classes. For farmers with young kids, they need
teaching support, either from DepEd or their community.
Private groups and individuals, along with the
government companies in the Philippines, are helping
students acquire free modular in school and affordable
internet connection, but this is not crucial for
modular distance learning. While these challenges are
still being addressed to parents can look forward to
this new arrangement as an opportunity to be a partner
in raising students with the school in teaching them
necessary life skills.
On the other hand, more students are growing up
familiar and comfortable with modular learning and but
many students are still opposed to taking modular
learning due to complicated understandings. A need
exists to examine the challenges students perceive, and
what can be done to meet student expectations. Students
are increasingly being offered modular educational
experiences, whether through online, modular or blended
learning environments. Thus, a need to define the real
difficulties that students have in taking modular
courses.
Conversely, Boling (2012) Higher education providers
are becoming increasingly aware of the diversity of
their current and potential learners. This is
demonstrated by their providing a range of options for
their engagement. Increasingly flexible delivery modes
are available for university students provide multiple
pathways and opportunities for those seeking further
education. From these viewpoints, the research was
conceptualized to determine the Difficulties of College
of Arts and Sciences and College of Education students
in modular learning in the Colegio de la Purisima
Concepcion
