SCENE ONE: INT. Carla is driving home- Dusk

Narrator: Friday night, at 8:00pm, Carla drives

home from a stressful day at work. She
gets home with what she thinks will be a
peaceful night however it turns south.

SOUND EFFECT: RAIN DRIPPING ON THE CAR, CAR ENGINE

ON.

MUSIC: RADIO ON.

SOUND EFFECT: CAR DOOR OPENS AND SHUTS. CARLA

WALKING TO THE FRONT DOOR AND OPENS
IT.

SCENE TWO: INT. HOUSE- DUSK.

SOUND EFFECT: SILENCE AS SCENE CHANGES.

Carla: Hi babe, I’m home.

Alex: Hey! (Changes the channel over to

romantic music on the TV)

SOUND EFFECT: TV PROGRAMME CHANGES TO ROMANTIC

MUSIC.

Carla: Oh my goodness! What’s this for?

Alex: Thought we could have a nice romantic

night.

Carla: Aww, this is so sweet. Omg, I love the

rose petals and candles!

Alex: I knew you would like them.

Carla: Let me go upstairs and get ready.

SCENE THREE: INT. UPSTAIRS- NIGHT.

SOUND EFFECTS: SILENCE AS SCENE CHANGES. WALKING

UPSTAIRS, GETTING UNDRESSED AND
DRESSED UP. WALKS DOWNSTAIRS WHEN
READY.

SCENE FOUR: INT. DOWNSTAIRS- NIGHT.

SOUND EFFECT: SILENCE AS SCENE CHANGES.

Alex: Wow! You look stunning!

Carla: Thank you, you don’t look too bad

yourself!

Alex: Haha. Thanks, I guess.

Carla: So, what are we having for food then?

Alex: Well, as I can’t really cook that well,

I’ve ordered us a takeaway, is Chinese
alright?

Carla: Yeah, I guess. Hope it doesn’t take too

long, I’m starving!

Alex: I think they said around 30 minutes

about 20 minutes ago.

Carla: Good, not that long to wait then.

SOUND EFFECTS: SITTING DOWN AT THE TABLE WITH

CHAIRS DRAGGING ACROSS THE FLOOR AS
THEY ARE BEING TUCKED IN.

Carla: How has your day been?

Alex: (Sarcastically) Oh, I got up to so much

today!

Carla: (Surprised) Really?!

Alex: No, of course not. I just sat on the

sofa all day staring at the TV.

Carla: Oh, nothing new then. Alex, you

seriously need to get out of this house
at some point.

Alex: I know. I need to start looking for a

job, so I have something to do with my
life!

Carla: Yeah! You do!

Alex: How was your day at work then?

Carla: It was alright, you wouldn’t believe

what Liam said today. It had me in fits.

Alex: Ugh, not that Liam guy again. Thought

you told me you weren’t gonna be around
him anymore.

Carla: Give me a break. If you had it your way,

I wouldn’t speak to anyone in my office.

Alex: Don’t turn this on me.

Carla: Well, at least I actually have a job

instead of sitting on my arse all day.

Alex: You know what I’ve been through!

Carla: That was 3 years ago, you’ve got to move

on.

Alex: You always hated them.

Carla: Don’t say that! I loved your parents

very dearly. It’s a real shame they got
in that accident, but you need to move
on!

Alex: DON’T YOU DARE TELL ME TO MOVE ON!

(Slaps her round the face).

SOUND EFFECT: SOMEONE GETTING SLAPPED.

Carla: OW! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU?!

SCENE FOUR: INT. HALLWAY- NIGHT

SOUND EFFECTS: SILENCE AS SCENE CHANGES. DOORBELL

RINGS.

Carla: (Angrily) I’ll get it!

(Aggressively gets up and walks over to
the door and opens it).

Delivery man: Hi, here’s your fo- (Whispers) What

happened to your face? Are you okay? Do
you need help?

Carla: No don’t worry about it, I’m fine.

(Shouting) I’M LEAVING ANYWAYS! IM GOING
TO GO TO LIAM’S HOUSE INSTEAD! (She
chucks the food all over the hallway).

SOUND EFFECTS: HEAVY BAGS CHUCKED.

Alex: THERE YOU GO AGAIN. ALWAYS RUNNING AWAY

FROM YOUR PROBLEMS.

Carla: You know what. FUCK YOU AND FUCK THIS

RELATIONSHIP! WE’RE DONE!

SOUND EFFECT: FRONT DOOR SLAMS. CAR DOOR SLAMS AND

CAR DRIVES OFF QUICKLY.
