CODE OF PRACTICE FOR THE SAFE MOORING OF VESSEL IN THE PORT OF

TAGBILARAN CITY, BOHOL


The main thrust of this study is to correlate seafarers’ behavioral competence and the
safe mooring practices of vessel in the port of Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
Specifically, this study seeks to answer the following questions:

1. What is the demographic profile of the seafarers in the Tagbilaran City Port in
terms of:
1.1. Age;
1.2. Position held; and
1.3. Number of years in the service?
2. What is the level of behavioral competence of seafarers in Tagbilaran City port
based on the following domains:
1.1. Team Working;
1.2. Communicating and influencing;
1.3. Situation Awareness;
1.4. Decision Making;
1.5. Results focus; and
1.6. Leadership and managerial skills?
2. What is the level of the safe mooring practices of vessel from the following
shipping companies in the port of Tagbilaran City, Bohol:
2.1. Lite Shipping;
2.2. Ddcsdc;
2.3. Dscd?
3. Is there a significant relationship between each domain of seafarers’ behavioral
competence and the code of practice for the safe mooring of vessel in the
Tagbilaran City, Port?
4. Is there a significant variance among the three shipping companies in the port of
Tagbilaran City, Bohol in terms of the safe mooring practices of vessel?
5. Is there a significant relationship between seafarers’ demographic profile and the
safe mooring practices of vessel in the Tagbilaran City Port?
