requirement.

Steam Turbine:
≥ Worked on erection, commissioning, overhauling, preventive maintenance, over speed trip test, condensing
and non-condensing type such as throbbing, innersole rand, Nuovo pig none, dressarrand Mitsubishi and
Escoda etc.
≥ Checking bearing redial and axial clearance, labyrinth clearance, carbon seal clearance, nozzle clearance,
etc.
≥Replaced bearing, labyrinth, carbon seal, throttle valve etc.

Gas Turbine:
≥ Overhauling & running Maintenance Shut down Maintenance, preventing maintenance, and replaced de fog
and intake air filters,

COMBINED CYCLE (CAPATIVE) POWER PLANT

For Catering the power requirement og HBI modules, captive power plant (C.P.P.) with 20.2
MW Frame – 9, General Electricl make Gas Turbine until was instlled and commissioned. Later
on, for best utilization of the heat energy content of hot exhaust gases from Gas Turbine, the
plant was converted to a combined cycle power generation unit by installation of Heat recovery
steam generator (Boiler) and 11.1 MW SKODA make steam turbine unit.
C.P.P is connected with the main 220 KV supply bus (GRID) through a 40 MVA transformer
located in 220 KV switchyard. Normally, CPP operates in synchronized condition with GRID to
have an alternate power source of 220 KV always available.

C.P.P. meets the complete power requirement of two modules of HBI units. With a 380 KVA
D.G. set, CPP has black start facility and suppliers emergency power at 6.6 KV through a 12.5
MVA transformer for STEEL-II as well as EpcL for their 6.6 KV Gas turbine start up motor.

C.P.P. has got the facility to start the unit independently without external power support, if the
fuel (natural gas / HSD and naphtha) is available.

Gas Turbine is having dual firing facility and can run with liquid fuel (naphtha/HSD) of gaseous
fuel or also with mix fuel of both.
