The document discusses smoke control requirements for buildings from the International Building Code and NFPA 101. It states that covered mall buildings with atriums must have smoke control systems, except if the atrium only connects two stories. It also requires windowless buildings to have engineered smoke control systems. Finally, it notes that NFPA 101 requires smoke control systems to be designed, installed, inspected, tested, and maintained according to NFPA 92 standards if they are installed for code compliance.
