Proof:
I. Show that in case of stationary wave, no energy is transferred
across any section of the medium.
II. Show that the intensity of the first secondary maximum is roughly
4.5% of that of the principal maximum.
III. Show that both kinetic and potential energies of a damped
oscillator decrease exponentially with time.
IV. For a progressive wave, show that on the average half the energy
is kinetic and half potential.
V. Show that the number of beats produced per second is equal to
the difference in frequency of the two notes.
VI. Show that the angular separation between any two consecutive
maxima is directly proportional to the wavelength of light used.
