making it the first engine builder to receive EU certification.
The company said the Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA), the
German type-approval authority for vehicles and compo-
nents in the European Union, recently issued the first of-
ficial certificates for the Deutz engines.

erman diesel engine specialist Deutz has sealed an expansion of its
supply agreement with Italy’s Visa Group for the delivery of engines to
be used in gen-set and pump applications.
According to Deutz, the volume of engines will be increased gradu-
ally over the course of this year, with a view to eventually increase the supply to
around four times the original volume between the two companies.
The engines in the agreement are Deutz type B/FM 2011 and BFM 1013 die-
sels with an output range of 30 to 250 kVA for gen-set applications as well as the
B/FL 2011 and air-cooled type 912/914 engines for water pumps.
The engines are ideal for use in the Middle East and Africa, where they can be
used at any time, offering high availability and low maintenance even in extreme
temperatures and under tough environmental conditions, Deutz said.
Under the supply agreement, Deutz is also committed to providing rapid
engine service through its global service network.
