RE: MALAYSIAN UNIVERSITY ENGLISH TEST (MUET) 2021 SESSIONS

Please be informed that MUET consists of a Speaking Test and a Writing Test which are made up of four (4)
components: Speaking, Reading, Writing and Listening.

1) MUET Schedule for 2021 sessions

Generally MUET is conducted three (3) times a year unless otherwise stated. The tests schedule extracted
from Majlis Peperiksaan Malaysia (MPM) website updated on 11 November 2020 for 2021 session is as
shown below:

Note: The information stated above is subject to change and approval by the Ketua Eksekutif MPM.

2) Entry Requirement
Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA) has stipulated that applicants who wish to pursue the following
programmes must have the corresponding MUET score:
Programme MUET score
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) English with Drama programme
minimum of Band 4
Bachelor of Arts (Honours) English with Education programme

3) Requirement for Graduation

All TAR UC Bachelor Degree Programme students MUST achieve a Valid MUET score of at least Band
3 to be eligible for consideration for graduation.
4) Validity Period for MUET Results
(a) The validity period for MUET results are as follows:

(i) For MUET results issued prior to 2009, the validity period is until 18 July 2013.
(ii) For MUET results issued from 2009 onwards, the validity period is five (5) years from the date
of issue of results.

(b) The validity of the MUET result at the point of entry into the Degree programme are as follows:
(i) If student possess a MUET Certificate which has not expired upon admission to the Degree
programme, the MUET Certificate shall be deemed as valid at the time of graduation from
Degree programme.

5) Registration for MUET

(a) Via TAR UC Intranet:
Students who wish to register to sit for MUET at TAR UC are advised to refer to the UC Intranet and
Faculty/Centre notice board on the commencement and closing of registration period. Due to the
limited capacity, registration will be on a first-come, first-served basis and any late registration and/or
late payment will NOT be entertained.

(b) Via MPM portal:

Students who wish to register for MUET via MPM portal as a private candidate may log in to
www.mpm.edu.my for detailed information.

6) Submission of MUET Results for Private Candidates

Students who have sat for MUET as private candidates are to notify the UC of their results via ‘Submission
of Malaysian University English Test (MUET) Result’ form which is available at TAR UC Intranet →
Examinations → MUET → Submission of MUET Result. Students are to complete and print out a copy of
the form and attach their MUET result slip/certificate and submit it to the respective Faculty/Centre for
verification.
This has to be done within the three (3) weeks after MUET results are published at MPM website. If
students fail to do so, the UC would not be able to upload their MUET results for consideration for
graduation and subsequently they will not fulfill the graduation requirement of the TAR UC Bachelor
Degree.
