JOSE RIZAL’S ASPIRATIONS

Jose Rizal 's passion for the land gave him the strength to sacrifice himself, to lead a
rebellion against the Spaniards, and to pursue the independence he wished for. It is also
mentioned in his article "Love of the Country" that love for the Nation is the most important. At
this moment in time, love for the nation and for fellow-citizens is clearly evident as the Filipino
connects themselves as one for the country in terms of "Bayanihan" as they call it.

Through education, ignorance is pushed away and gives power and protection. In the
time of the Spaniards, education was given only to those who are fortunate, or to those who are
rich, a chance to learn. Through Jose Rizal 's education, he was enriched with knowledge and
given a catalyst for change and light from the darkness of the Spaniards. Until now, education is
still the main, helping to build the skills required and helping to improve the country.

One of Rizal’s dreams is to have peace and equality. Discrimination and injustice
emerged during the time of Jose Rizal because of the Spaniards and it was seen in Jose Rizal 's
book Noli Me tangere and El Filibusterismo that the Filipinos were not well treated in their own
country, and the Spaniards still see Filipino as a slave and good for nothing. We are also thankful
to Jose Rizal, who helped Filipino to drive out the Spaniards and to fight the injustice and
discrimination they suffered. This idea of equality and justice is still required and clearly seen in
the present generation as it is already easy to articulate and demand for it.

In his life, Jose Rizal has a lot of dreams. One of those dreams is a better future for young
people, because they will be the next generation to lead the world. In Jose Rizal 's poem, "A La
Juventud Filipina" notes that young people are capable of achieving great heights, even if there
are a lot of problems that they may face. In the 21st century, young people are still the country's
greatest asset because they have a greater role to play in accelerating change than Jose Rizal has
done.

Jose Rizal's dreams to have economic growth and prosperity in the Philippines. It was his
hope that after the Spanish rule, the Philippines would be greater than itself. This economic
growth and development can be accomplished by the four basic concepts that have already been
set out. In this present time, the sense of nationality is much greater than it was before. Education
is constantly growing, and many people take it seriously. The love of the nation is more evident
in today's world, as the Filipinos are continually part of the transformation of the future.
