POST-TEST: With your knowledge in this chapter, answer the following questions.

1. Explain the impact of Rizal’s political observations in Europe and how it helped to set
free our country ill-rotten system.

 Rizal’s political observations in Europe helped our country to be released in an

ill-rotten system in a way that he shared the importance of having an
international outlook in which there must be a presence of balance between
patriotism and the thought of universal brotherhood. He encouraged people to
speak and be vocal towards issues that concerns peoples’ society, safety, and
rights just like Europe. In this way it can raise awareness, change, and
revolutionize the people to set what is appropriate to their rights that can uplift
the government and citizen to improve its laws, governance, and systems.

Aside from this, Rizal showed our country the importance of learning; learning
not just from what you get in school but also experiences within one’s
community and life. Acquiring new ideas and learning can help people in
reflecting situations throughout the process. He also emphasized the
prominence of nationalism and love for our country no matter what the situation
is and no matter where we are. The Philippines was always his reference point,
we have much to gain if we allow other countries to inspire us about what can
be done for our own.

2. Create an essay on Rizal idea that love of country is the most heroic and sublime of all
human sentiments.

 Dr. Jose P. Rizal, the national hero of our beloved country; the man that
introduced its citizens to the importance of achieving freedom, respect, peace,
trust, and sacrifice to show one’s love for its country.

Love for our country is the most heroic and sublime of all human sentiments
that even in small little things people that has and will make can affect great
effect to the country. It can be showed through writing and even bloodshed just
like what the people in his time have made just to achieve independence from
Spanish tyranny and oppression. Rizal give his love by fighting what is right for
his country even if it needs to sacrifice his life. People have died, injured, and
tortured back in the days; and today it is showed by creating peaceful
community circle that fights injustices that occurs to our motherland. It is never
effaced once it has penetrated the heart because it carries with it a divine stamp.
Nothing beats to the honor and satisfaction in bringing achievement and honor
to our own country.
