Wide ranging experience covering the fabrication and maintenance of chemical, nuclear, polymer and
food plants. Competent with reading fabrication drawings isometric & orthographic projections.
Developed workscope for projects including materials and fabrication templates. Skilled in the use of
welding carbon and stainless steel, either TIG, MIG and Electric Arc; operating pipe threading machines
and hand or mechanical bending machines.

Fabrication and installation of carbon and stainless pipework at Gas Storage Facility in
Northwich.

April 2007 – Feb-2011 Dresser Rand- Crew Leader/Supervisor (evacuated out under
Force Majeure)
Responsible for the overhaul and maintenance of either 8-12cylinder Cooper Bessemer
GMV/A-Dresser Rand KVG or BDC electric and gas engines and adjoining gas lift
compressors at various stations within the Harouge Amal Oil field.
Supervising a team of up to 8 men on split shift rotation main duties included: initiating HSE
Permit to Work system to facilitate a safe working environment; daily liaison with Workshop
Compressor Supervisor to achieve optimum operation of the parts, equipment and preventive
maintenance and specific references; coordinating with various engineering departments
across all disciplines to ensure time scale is met; requisitioning of spares; completion of daily
work records; and final project completion report.

2000-2007 - Dresser Rand-, Mechanical Technician

Harouge Amal and Agoco Nafoora, Gas and Oil fields Libya North Africa. Working on 6
Weeks on 4 Weeks off rotation, involved with overhaul and maintenance of KVG-KVSR-
Ingersol Rand-Dresser Rand BDC-Cooper Bessemer GMVA gas engines and adjoining gas
lift compressors.
Overhaul of main oil pumps/pre- lube pumps, lubricator pumps and realignment to within
client specification.
 Removal- rebuild-and replace oil-gas and water coolers.
 Overhaul and refit of Cooper Bessemer Balance weights.
 On site replacement of compressor pistons, pressure and wiper packing and rebuild
of compressors.
 On site replacement of KVG Ingersol Rand Crankshaft, realignment, fitment of main
bearings and total rebuild of unit.
 Workshop overhaul of KVG-Cooper gas compressors and pressure and wiper
packing.
1976 - 2000 Flowline Engineering (Plant Engineering Contractors) [formerly AI
Urmston Ltd]
Time-served apprentice pipe-fitter/fitter/welder.
Based either in the workshop in Trafford Park Manchester or at various locations throughout the UK,
both onshore and offshore (North Sea) and overseas.

During the course of my employment with AI Urmston I was contracted to work at various locations,
including the UK and overseas:
 Allen Power, Kenya, Nairobi KPLC. Pipefitter/coded welder to ASME9 British
Engine Specification. Fabrication and installation of carbon and stainless steel ,
screwed and butt welded pipework to Nigatta Heavy Fuel Oil and Diesel Engines.
 Cerestar UK Ltd, Manchester, Food and Chemical Factory. Site Supervisor/
pipefitter welder. Supervising a team of up to 32 members, pipefitters/ welders and
mechanical fitters, riggers and steel erectors throughout the whole factory on various
contracts. Install various sizes of stainless steel tanks, pumps and motors and
pipework runs to different locations of the site.
 Liaise with site engineers to ensure smooth running of the plants around the factory
(fabrication and maintenance).Involved in planning major and minor shutdown work.
 Dresser Rand UK, Manchester . Pipe/fitter, fitter involved in the fabrication of
pipework again screwed and butt welded, subsequent assembly of the various
engines produced by Dresser Rand (gas and diesel). Following assembly involved in
test procedures to ensure the engines conformed to client's specification.
 BNFL, Dungeness (Separation Plant) Pipe/fitter involved in the fabrication and
assembly of separation units into the existing plant. This involved work ing with
carbon and stainless steel pipework.
 Claymore Oil Rig, North Sea Pipe-fitter working on a two week on/two week off rota
fabricating and fitting pipework to Dresser Rand gas compressors, again involving
carbon and stainless steel.
 Frabrex, Gravesend, Kent Pipe-fitter involved in the fabrication and fitting of
chrome-oly steam pipework up to 36" in diameter.
 Elf Atochem, Stalybridge Foreman Pipe-fitter/welder involved in fabrication of
screwed and butt welded pipework and maintenance throughout the factory.
