Nearly 100,000 Indonesians contract typhus every year. Therefore, typhus is declared as
an endemic disease and a serious health problem in the country. So, we as nursing students must
continue to provide education to the public for that, I will review typhoid

Typhus or typhoid fever is a disease caused by infection with the bacteria Salmonella
typhii. Typhus can be transmitted quickly, generally through consumption of food or drinks that
have been contaminated with feces that contain Salmonella typhii bacteria. Typhoid fever
symptoms vary widely, from mild symptoms that don't require treatment to severe ones that
require treatment. The incubation period for typhoid fever lasts between 10-14 days. At the
beginning of the disease period, people with typhoid fever develop fever. The nature of fever is
to increase slowly, especially in the afternoon to evening. Fever that increases every day until it
reaches 39-400C. At high fever, it can be accompanied by central nervous system disorders, such
as decreased consciousness, decreased consciousness ranging from apathy to coma. Other
accompanying systemic symptoms are headache, fatigue and weakness, loss of appetite, nausea
and vomiting, abdominal pain and sore throat. Indigestion in cases of typhoid fever varies
widely. Patients may complain of diarrhea, obtipation, or optipation, followed by diarrhea, the
tongue looks dirty with a white color in the middle.
The management of typhoid fever can be done with rest and treatments such as bed rest
to prevent complications. Bed rest is an on-site treatment, including eating, drinking, bathing,
defecating and urinating to help the healing process. In maintenance it is necessary to keep the
equipment used clean. In addition, diet and supporting therapy are also very influential. Diet is
important in the healing process of typhoid fever. Based on the patient's level of recovery,
initially the patient was fed filtered porridge, then coarse porridge, and increased to rice. The
administration of filtered porridge aims to avoid complications and intestinal bleeding.
Antimicrobial administration is also needed to stop and inhibit the spread of germs. Medicines
that are often used are chloramphenicol, thiamphenicol, ampicillin, and contrimoxasol.

So, if typoid is not treated properly, it is estimated that every one in five people will die
from typoid. In addition, typoids are also at risk of causing complications. The main treatment
for typhoid fever is by taking antibiotics. Thank you so much for listening. You are all good
