Karinderia ni Mang Urot Feeding Program

Narrative Report by: Briggs J. Espejo
Day 1:

January 26 was the first day of my voluntary work at Karinderia ni Mang Urot.
Me and my friends attended early at the program. Before the program starts my
friends and I had some conversation with the NGO, we learned that they always do
voluntary work at free time and they also go to province just to feed and help the
poor. We also knew that some people that they help were abandoned by their
families.

After conversing with the NGO, they started to assemble the 70+ poor people at the
parking lot of Bank Of Commerce Quezon Ave. Then me and my friends started to
carry to tables, food, and drinks to the program, then organized it. Then we started
giving it to them one by one. After the program we also volunteered to wash the
dishes. During the event I felt their happiness , and how they enjoyed the food, and
mostly the kids, they’re so happy and thankful even though that life is hard. That’s
also the lesson that I learned from them, being happy at simple things and help
from others and also believing that there are still good in this world.

Day 2:

January 31 is the last day of my participation at Karinderia ni Mang Urot.

Me and my friends had a conversation again with the new NGO about taal eruption
and corona virus and some life lessons.

After that me and my pe blockmates started to set up the tables and chairs, then
prepare food and drinks to the poor people. There are only 23 people attended and
they are enjoying the food and some of them did a take-out because it’s delicious.
After the program we clean up the tables chairs and some of us did the dishes
