Irregular Verbs

Definition
Irregular verbs are verbs that change according to the tense and do not obey normal
order.
The past form of Irregularverbs is not formed from verb-1 (infinitives) plus the -d or
-ed letters to form verb-2 / pasttense and verb-3 / pastparticiple.
Therefore this verb needs to be memorized carefully by English students.
Example:
• I came to the party with my fiancee. (I came to the party with my fiance.)
• We wen to the achon the weekend. (We go to the beach on weekends.)

Types of IrregularVerbs
The form of irregular verbs (irregularverbs) can be divided into 3 (three) kinds, the
types of irregular verbs (irregularverbs) are as follows:

1. The second and third forms of verbs do not change from the first form.
Example:
Verb-1 Verb-2 Verb-3 Arti
to cut Cut cut memotong
Tohurt Hurt hurt melukai
Tocost Cost cost berharga

2. The second and third forms of verbs are the same but different from the first form. For
verbs ending in -ch, -f, -k, -p, -s, -sh, and -x, if the second verb (verb-2) and third verb
(verb-3) are formed, then written and pronounced with the -t ending.
Example:

Tobuy Bought bought membeli
Tobleed Bled bled melukai
Tobind Bound bound mengikat
Tocreep crept crept merangkak
Tofling flung flung membuang
3. The first, second and third forms of verbs are not the same.
Example:

Totake took taken mengambil
Toforsake forsook forsaken meninggalkan
Togo went gone pergi
Toeat ate eaten makan
Tofly flew flown terbang

Conclusion
Regular and irregularverb is the division of verbs based on changes in time or way of
writing. Both have different forms of formation and type. There are ten ways of forming
regularverb and three types of irregularverb.
