1. INTRODUCTION
Player Unknown’s Battlegrounds or PUBG is reportedly causing mental illness
among children as their PUBG addiction is hampering their sleeping cycles while
also increasing stress levels, a report said. (PUBG addiction harmful for kids,
school warns parents, 2018)
There have been several reports of children being addicted to the popular online
game PUBG of late. It's practically impossible to keep children away from mobile
phones completely. That said, one has to make sure they do not become game
addicts. (Desk, 2020)
PUBG has become one of the most popular online multiplayer games ever seen and
since the game was released for smartphones in form of PUBG Mobile, it has seen
a massive reach among youngsters as well as gaming enthusiasts. The popularity of
PUBG can be measured with the fact that smartphone manufacturers and the
developer itself have sponsored more than a couple of gaming events for PUBG fans,
which were well received. With the increasing popularity of Player Unknown's
Battleground, a debate has also started around the world where people are worried
about addiction to this online game and the kind of mental damage it can cause.
Now, some schools in Bengaluru have started warning parents against letting their
kids play the online game Player Unknown’s Battleground or PUBG for extended
hours after cases of addiction came to light in the city.
Moreover, the Associated Management of English Medium Schools in Karnataka
(KAMS) will reportedly issue an advisory to parents in order to ask them to restrict
the time students are spending on playing the PUBG game. (Digital, 2018)

“The only option left in our hand is that taking back mobile phones from them and
secondly that we can handle them slightly or we can make a proper timetable for
them to play this game.” (R1)
“I will surely blame to this game because it’s related to fighting or build aggressive
behavior among kids. So being a parent I would like to become a friend of my kid
so that by giving a proper company to my child, he will start sharing with me
everything either good or bad and will also not even dare to threat me to leave home.”
(R2)

“I will try to get him involved in other activities like book reading painting or some
useful activities so that he can avoid it not immediately but slowly and gradually.”
(R3)

“There are many studies, researches, Ahadees and Ayaats regarding this by use of
which we can avoid our kids from playing such games and to create a self-
responsibility factor among them.” (R4)
“Now look 1stly we need to convince them politely and I’ll try my best to do a sort
of psychological counselling of my kids so that I can avoid my kid from playing
pubg in a better way.” (R5)
2. LITERATURE REVIEW
PUBG is a game to which most children are getting addicted and it has
been rated as a teen as violence and blood is involved in it. But still, many
children play it and become addicted. PLAYERUNKNOWN’S
BATTLEGROUNDS that is PUBG has 100 players against one another in
which the player’s main goal is to simply outlive the competition .
(Monitor, 2020) Today, video game addiction is considered a real mental
health condition recognized by the World Health Organization. Every
parent has to understand the warnings that they receive from the children
about the PUBG then only they can take steps to stop PUBG addiction.

These are the biggest warning signs for PUBG addiction, but there are
other signs as well as being unable to focus without playing games.
(Monitor, 2020) This is a pretty much common problem of all our household
nowadays. Almost all the kids are now addicted to watching videos on YouTube and
playing Games on the mobile in case if we take away the mobile phone from them,
they become angry and start crying and will not eat anything unless they get back
the mobile. Ultimately, our parents are responsible for this as we tend to give the
mobile to kids so that they can watch videos online and we became free to do our
own work. We see that as freedom from our children not understanding its overall
side effects. (Miller, 2019)

Online or video games are extremely stimulating mentally and sometimes even
physically which is why kids love them. So if you want to get them to stop playing
online games then you have to introduce them to outdoor games which are equally
stimulating.
So first of all have an honest conversation with your child about the demerits of
playing online games. The next step is to fix a screen time and follow that. There
should be consequences to not having followed screen time which include taking
away privileges like extra screen time or the activities of their choice over the
weekend. You get a lot of apps that can lock your phone after a set time or even lock
apps after a set time so ensure that your child’s phone has that.
Over time you can ensure that your child reduces screen time, hence reducing the
time spent playing PUBG. For this you might also have to follow a digital detox
yourself and spend more time doing activities together. You don’t have to spend all
your time with your child by ignoring other chores, just make sure that he/she is
doing something that they love and you can do what you are expected to do!!

Going cold turkey when it comes to online games could also work but for that you
would require a lot of patience and determination. Most children think of it as a
punishment, so slowly reducing screen time is the best way to handle this
situation.Expect lots of tantrums and stay strong!! As they say a few tears now are
worth creating a good life for the future. (Bavadekar, 2019)
Extended periods of time in playing computer games can contrarily influence
adolescent's presentation in their school or at work in the event that they are
distracted with their computer games or neglecting to work at their ideal level since
they are depleted from a late night of playing computer games . The Mayo Clinic
takes note of that youngsters who commits over two hours every day to TV or
computer games may experience the difficulties of nodding off, have issues focusing
than adolescents who don't invested as much energy before the PC and computer
games. (Essays, 2018)

In light of the prevalence of computer games, it can totally killing them from
adolescent's life may be troublesome. Yet, there are additionally hardly any ways
that can diminish the negative effect that they have on the young people . Know the
rating of the computer games that the youngsters are playing. (Essays, 2018) Never
introduce any computer games hardware if vital. Continuously set a breaking point
on how regularly and how long adolescents is permitted to play computer games.
Set aside the effort to talk about with the young people about the games they are
playing or other media they are viewing. Ask them what is their opinion about and
what they see in these computer games. (Essays, 2018) This is a chance to share
your sentiments and develop nearer with the young people. It is imperative for
adolescents to invest their energy in both indoor and open air exercises .
Unreasonable time spent on computer games may control some open air exercises
among a portion of the young people. We probably won't need them to be down
addicts at the expense of dynamic outside distractions. (Essays, 2018) It is the
obligation of the older folks to urge young people to take an interest in open air
exercises also, as opposed to adhering to the computer games for throughout the day.
Having the option to screen and control the measure of time that the adolescents
spent on computer games is the way to confine the negative effects of computer
games. Make a point to open them to the correct games with constrained time log to
profit by this sensational action. (Essays, 2018)

The era is trapped in the lure of cell games. It has been discovered that teens are
giving a whole lot extra rankings to taking part in video games on their cell telephone
as in contrast to outdoor/indoor games. Also, makers are growing such video games
like PUBG which is incredibly addictive and hazardous as well. PUBG’s addictive
man or woman would possibly get without difficulty burdened out or face
anxiousness troubles in public due to much less social interaction(M.Javed
2020).Playing this recreation for too lengthy can mess up your Genius as you have
a tendency to remain alone. You may have started out struggling loneliness and
depression. It has bad affects psychologically and socially (M.Javed 2020).
It is time ingesting and it keeps distance from studies. It prefers the game enthusiasts
to stay remoted life. This attracts in the direction of laziness and reasons fitness
injurious even demise too. It promotes real-life threats and violence as the sport
entails human killing and present actual title weapons which will increase aggression
and probability to inspire violence. PUBG tends to be a individual missing activity
in everything. (M.Javed 2020).

That PUBG does preach violence like the killing of human beings and life-like
weapons are involved. Thus it is incredibly un-recommended even if accurately
managed and prioritized it may also show to be deadly for its players. The sport is
certainly addictive. And due to it being on hand on cell telephones it is very without
problems on hand and human beings are greater inclined closer to its addiction
(M.Javed 2020).
