a) Business problem: Dates and time of month that result in most trip cancellations by drivers.
b) Facts needed to solve this problem: number of cancellations in a particular area, number of
cancellations per hour
c) Potential dimensions across which KPIs need to be aggregated: Date dimension, time
dimension, driver details dimension, special days dimension, trip details dimension (location
to-from, traffic details, fare of ride, cancellation times).
d) 2 queries which can be calculated: Number of cancellations by drivers across customer and
location, total number of cancellations in a particular quarter or holiday.

Q2) E-commerce (e.g., daraz.pk)

a. Possible business problems:


- What time of the day does the e-commerce website experience peak traffic?
- Which vendors are the most popular?
- Do old customers buy similar products as to what they brought before or do there is
variation in what they buy?
b. Facts needed to solve the problem of times with peak traffic on website: number of clicks
per second.
c. Potential dimensions across which KPIs need to be aggregated: Date dimension, time
dimension, customer dimension, product dimension, ongoing discount dimension, location
dimension
d. 2 queries which can be calculated: Total of purchases made every hour in a day, total
number of customers clicks on products per hour in a day.

Q3) Mobile manufacturing (e.g., MI mobiles) in China

a. Possible business problem: Defective mobiles produced that go out undetected per quarter.

b. Facts needed to solve the problem:

piece was produced, Problem in detected defect, problem in undetected defects, customer
feedback, manufacturer details, severity of defect, price of mobile which is a defect, other
model details.
d. 2 queries which can be calculated: Total number of defective mobile phones manufactured
in each quarter, total number of defective mobiles of a particular model.

Q4) Marketing campaigns of Islamic banks

a. Possible business problem: Does the bank get more donors and customers because of their
Islamic approach to banking in Pakistan and marketing?
b. Facts needed to solve the problem: Funds received, number of new users since the
marketing campaign was introduced
c. Potential dimensions across which KPIs need to be aggregated: Date dimension, time
dimension, customer details, branch details, donor details, investor details
d. 2 queries which can be calculated: Number of new customers per month after the marketing
ad/strategy is implemented, average number of people who took out loans per quarter
