The International association of Drilling Contractors WellControl Accreditation
Program (WellSharpTM ) was originally designed in 1995 to assist industry
professionals in developing and delivering WellControl training that conforms
to industry-recognized standards. The requirements, guidelines and
recommendations were made to help steer the user toward the proper
professional approaches that should be used to establish a training program
and WellControl.
The Well Sharp program, which evolved from WellCAP, was revamped and revitalized at the request of
industry. Working in collaboration with the WellCAP Advisory Panel, the IADC WellControl committee, and
other industry workgroups, the WellSharp program represents and industry-led effort to redefine WellControl
controlled trainings. Using quality benchmarks and criteria developed together with operators, drilling
contractors, professional trainers, and WellControl specialists, WellSharp helps to ensure that WellControl
training schools adhere to a core curriculum developed by industry. International Association of Drilling
Contractors WellControl Accreditation Program (WellSharpTM ) was originally designed in 1995 to assist
