This lesson will help you learn the different nail care tools, materials and
equipment. This will help you identify and classify the essential nail care tools, materials
and equipment that will be discussed below.

What is a beauty care (nail care) services?

Primarily offers a manicure (a beauty treatment for the finger nails and hand)
and pedicure (a cosmetic treatment for the feet and toenails)

Below are the classification and types of essential nail care tools and equipment for
beauty care (nail care) services.

I. Nail care Tools

- are items which are durable, fixed and handheld that are needed for nail
enhancement

1. Nail cutter

It is also called a nail clipper used to trim nails.

A simple nail tool used to perform manicure and pedicure.

An emery board used for shaping and smoothing fingernails.

A small brush designed for cleaning the finger nails and toenails.

Toe spacers usually made from silicone.

8. Orange wood Stick

A slender, rounded stick originally of orangewood, with tapered ends used to
push back cuticles or remove excess nail polish.

A callus shaver is a tool for the medical and cosmetic removal of callus.

These are the cosmetics products that are consumed and replaced

1. Cuticle Oil
It is a moisturizing product for your nail most commonly made up of
vegetable oil and contains vitamins and citric acid.

It is a lotion for moisturizing your hand

It is a foot lotion for massaging and moisturizing.

Also known as nail varnish or nail enamel applied to the finger nail

5. Cotton
A small ball of cotton that can be used for different purposes such
as cleaning and removing nail polish.

6. Alcohol
A colorless chemical compound for sanitizing and disinfectant.

A herbal mix for relaxing and deodorizing the feet.

8. Foot Scrub
A mixture of Epsom Salt, sea salt with sugar that are meant to
scrub away the dead skin cells.

9. Base Coat
It is the plaster underlying the finish coat.

 9. Benzalkonium Chloride
It has the new antibacterial agent used as disinfectant for nail care.

10. Cuticle Remover

It applies liberally where the skin meets the nail to loosen and removes dry
dead skin around the cuticle.

It is a product applied to the fingernails to make them longer.

A colorless volatile liquid ketone used for dissolving old polish.
