Attempt three questions from Part A and two questions from Part B.
All questions carry equal marks.

PART A

1. “Research is an active, diligent, and systemic process of inquiry in order to discover,


interpret or revise facts, events, behaviours and theories.” In the light of above statement
critically examine process of research.
(10 Marks)
2. Critically examine that the synthesis of the literature review provides an informed
perspective and comprehensive overview of the knowledge available on the topic?
Discuss in detail method of writing of literature review. Present a model of critical
literature review in reference to evolution of socio-legal issues.
(10 Marks)
3. Discuss in detail the role of hypothesis testing in qualitative method. Also discuss the
differences between ordinal and nominal variables in respect of extent and scope of its
application. Whether hypothesis always need to be falsifiable? Comment.
(10 Marks)
4. Write a short note on any two of the followings:
(a) Interview and Schedule Method
(b) Steps in Sampling Design
(c) Data Collection and Analysis
(5+5 Marks)

PART B

5. What makes the study a quantitative or qualitative study? Which data collection and data
analysis approaches are used in these studies? Comment and also differentiate between
quantitative and qualitative parameters of research.

6. Is research design foundation of the entire research work? How far you agree that
research design facilitates smooth sailing of the various research operations in yielding
maximum information with minimum expenditure of effort, time and money? Comment.

7. “The quality of legal analysis will determine how well your document is written, however
the researcher encounters various issues in assessment of quality of previous research
works in absence of proper skill development and training of the nuances of the research
methods.” In the light of above statement comment on problem of legal analysis in the
legal profession.
