Prepositions and means of transportation

Prepositions Rule:
By is used to talk in general ways to travel, so in general, you always use by: by car, by bus, by planet, by foot, etc.
In is used in vehicles you must sit, you can’t stand, like: in a car, in a helicopter, in a taxi, in a truck, etc.
On is used on vehicles that you can stand or walk, even when they are in movement, like on a bus, ona train, on a tram, on a subway, on a ship, on a plane, etc.
On is also used in vehicles that you sit or stand on top of them, like on a motorcycle, on a bicycle, on a skateboard, etc.
Prepositions of Place and Directions
Prepositions of place: in front of, next to,
behind, between.

Directions: turn left, turn right, go straight


ahead.

Hobbies Activity
