THE HOBBIT

BOOK INTRO
J.R.R. Tolkien’s, The Hobbit is one of the best known and best loved
fantasy books. First published by George Allen & Unwin in 1937, The
Hobbit has been translated into over 50 different languages and sold
well over 100 million copies.
His book has got to be one of the greatest books I have ever read.
While the Lord of the Rings was targeted at a much older audience, I
think that The Hobbit appeals more to younger people because it is
less complicated and a whole lot shorter. The Hobbit is based on
events that took place before the Lord of the Rings trilogy begins –
before the ring was discovered essentially - but it has no less
adventure. J.R.R. Tolkien delivers yet again!
GENRE
A book full of adventure, heroism, drama, song and laughter,
featuring landscapes that are quintessentially English

ABOUT AUTHER
Professor J.R.R.Tolkien was famous for creative writing and he is one
of the best fiction and fantasy narrator of his era. Tolkien was
inspired by his academic field of philosophy and early German
literature, poetry and mythology.
THEME/STORY
The hobbit is a fantasy story of a small happy jolly loves to eat,
person named Bilbo Baggins and it’s a story when a wizard comes
knocking on his door with 12 dwarves and tells him it’s time to go on
adventure eventually when the dwarves land and treasure has been
taken over by a dragon named Smaug and they have decided to
reclaim it, reclaim the land, reclaim the treasure and that is where
the story takes off. Bilbo is the reluctant character here, Bilbo
obviously is a man loving his home and he thought that he never
have this opportunity again so he goes on adventure with them.
This book contains 12 chapters and each chapter comes
up with new adventure and new obstacle that Bilbo must overcome
in order to achieve his quest.
The literature of this book is simple in its premise and can
be easily understandable with the help of maps and diagrams. the
dialogue is okay like it serves its purpose and he sets up the plot
nicely in the beginning and it makes the world seems very authentic
and that’s for me is enough to describe a world where you don’t
need pages and pages of description.

LESSON
 The fear of failure is biggest obstacle to success.
 If you want to achieve a goal tackle every barrier which comes in
its way even if you have to leave your home land, leave it.
 Real treasure its journey itself

MY OPINIOS & RECOMMENDATIONS

I think this book brings everything you could possibly hope for from o
fantasy book into one story. I think here the writer is very good to
keep its reader interested. The Hobbit I thing is a perfect
combination of good story writing, storytelling, good characters
everything. It’s just good classical story I would highly recommend
every one read this book.
