QUESTIONS
WHAT IS VIRUX?
ViruX is a chlorine tablet disinfectant with active
ingredient, Sodium Dichloroisocyanurate (NaDCC).

WHAT IS VIRUX FOR?

ViruX is an all-purpose disinfectant for home and
professional use.

WHAT IS SODIUM
DICHLORIUSOCYANURATE?
Also known as NaDCC, it is a chlorine compound that
is widely used as a disinfectant.

WHERE HAS SODIUM

DICHLOROISOCYANURATE (NADCC) BEEN MOSTLY
USED?
NaDCC have been widely used as a high-level
disinfectant in hospitals and/or pandemic areas
where degrees of infections are high. It is used in
commercial, industrial and agricultural settings.

WHAT MAKES SODIUM

DICHLOROISOCYANURATE (NADCC) DIFFERENT
FROM OTHER CHLORINE DISINFECTANTS?
NADCC has both free/available chlorine (FAC) and
reserved/stored chlorine while others only have the
earlier (FAC) which makes disinfection using NaDCC
more effective and longer lasting.

WHAT MAKES SODIUM

DICHLOROISOCYANURATE (NADCC) DIFFERENT
FROM OTHER DISINFECTANTS IN GENERAL?
Hypochlorous acid which results when chlorine is
dissolved in water, has no known resistance against
known pathogens like viruses and bacteria when
prepared at desired strengths or concentrations.
Other disinfectants do have some form of resistance
or immunity when used continuously.

WHAT MAKES VIRUX DIFFERENT FROM OTHER

NADCC DISINFECTANTS?
ViruX is quality and economy rolled into one. What
used to be reserved for professionals can now be used
by the general public.

WHAT IS THE CHEMICAL ABSTRACT SERVICE (CAS)

NUMBER OF SODIUM DICHLOROISOCYANURATE
(NADCC)?
CAS Number 2893-78-9
FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
WHY ARE NADCC CHLORINE TABLETS NOT SO
POPULAR LIKE OTHER DISINFECTANTS?
NaDCC chlorine tablets are used in hospitals, labs & in
times of an outbreak where a safe, rapidacting, easy-
dosing, high-level disinfectant is needed. Most medical
professionals & quality control experts prefer them
given the high degree of infection control or food
safety is expected.
Other NaDCC brands are priced at a premium.

WHY SHOULD WE USE VIRUX?

If If you want a high-level disinfectant as most
hospitals and doctors use but only at a fraction of the
cost of nearly all other NaDCC brands, then ViruX is for
you.

WHAT DOES “ONE TABLET DOES IT ALL” MEAN?

ViruX is formulated so uniquely where one little tablet
packs a highly potent chlorine power and can even
hold its strength (microbial efficacy) much longer than
other disinfectants.

DOES VIRUX EFFECTIVELY ELIMINATE ALL KNOWN

HARMFUL PATHOGENS?
Yes. With NaDCC as its main component & using its
recommended doses, even the much resistant spores
and mycobacteria are not immune hence the more
common viruses and bacteria will surely be eliminated
as well.

HOW MUCH DOES EACH VIRUX TABLET WEIGH?

HOW MUCH SODIUM
DICHLOROISOCYANURATE (NADCC) DOES IT
CONTAIN?
Each viruX tablet weighs 2.0g and contains about
1,860mg of NaDCC.

HOW MUCH AVAILABLE CHLORINE DOES EACH VIRUX

TABLET LIBERATE?
Each virux tablet liberates 52% free and available
chlorine (FAC).
IS VIRUX EASY TO USE?
ViruX comes in effervescent tablet form, It is very easy
to prepare and dilute to its desired strength and
purpose.

HOW DOES ONE APPLY VIRUX?

After preparing desired mixture based on
recommended dilutions, apply solution either with use
of coarse sprayers, power sprayers, misting machines,
cold nebulizers, ultra-low volume machines or drone
built0in sprayers. Likewise, solution can be mopped or
wiped into target surfaces or can be placed in foot
baths or in disinfection sprinklers.

worldwide under different brands.

CAN VIRUX BE MIXED WITH DETERGENT?

Yes. Mix one (1) tablet of viruX with twenty (20) liters of
water then add powder detergent.

DOES VIRUX CONTAIN HYPOCHLORITE SIMILAR TO

BLEACH?
No, it does not contain hypochlorite. It contains
NaDCC which is an organic chlorine donor.

IS VIRUX A BETTER ALTERNATIVE TO BLEACH?

Yes, it is. Bleach is unstable, degrades on its own and
easily loses much microbial potency when subjected to
sunlight.

DOES VIRUX CORRODE METALS?

It does but a much slower rate compared to other
chlorines especially when used to label instructions.

CAN HOSPITAL AND LABORATORY STAINLESS STEEL

EQUIPMENT BE SOAKED USING VIRUX?
Yes. Based on trials, stainless steel items showed no
corrosion when exposed to NaDCC at concentrations of
up to 1000ppm max.

CAN PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT (PPE) BE

SOAKED USING VIRUX?
Yes. Soiled items should be subjected to at least
1000ppm.

DOES VIRUX STAIN WOOD AND OTHER SURFACES?

For cleaning furniture and other wood-based
products, use 1:10 dilution or lower, some
manufactured or engineered wood may contain
material/s which are sensitive to chlorine.
FREQUENTLY ASKED
QUESTIONS
DOES VIRUX DAMAGE MACHINERIES?

spraying on parts with electrical items like panel
boards, LED displays, controllers etc. Best to apply as
“wipes” to aforementioned items.

CAN REMAINING OR UNUSED SOLUTIONS BE STORED

FOR FUTURE USE?
Strength of mixed or diluted solution is stable & does
not degrade over time. However, viruX is best stored as
tablets so it is recommended to use up all solution
within twenty four (24) hours.

WHAT IS BEST TO DO IN CASE THE SOLUTION GETS IN

CONTACT WITH EYES OR SKIN?

A grace period of 2-4 hours after treatment of areas using high
concentrations (at least 1000ppm). Shorter grace period for mild
solutions.
CAN VIRUX BE USED AS A BIOSECURITY DISINFECTANT AGAINST
AFRICAN SWINE FEVER (ASF) VIRUS?
Although viruX has not been registered at the Bureau of
Animal Industry (BAI), NaDCC in general has been used to
treat agriculture-related viruses and bacteria at
concentrations of at least 1000ppm. IS VIRUX SAFE TO

USE AROUND PETS?

Yes, it is safe use 1:10 ratio.

DOES VIRUX HAVE RESIDUAL EFFECT?

NaDCC-generated chlorine has a residual effect of up to
4 hrs after surface treatment. Factors like cleanliness,
hygiene and presence of dirt and soil will also come
into play which may shorten its tested residual efficacy.
HOW MUCH AREA CAN ONE (1) LITER OF PREPARED
SOLUTION COVER?
Coarse spraying can allow you to cover about 50100
sqm per liter. Misting or ultra-low volume spraying
(cold fogging) can give you approx 3 to 4 times that of
coarse spraying, depending on how dense the
treatment area is.

HOW OFTEN DO YOU RE-APPLY VIRUX?

Disinfection in general should be done on a daily basis.
