A. INTRODUCTION

This learning area is designed to provide a general background for the understanding
of the development of communication skills in English for academic and professional
purposes. It discusses the nature of academic texts; from the pre-writing up to the rewriting
process. It also tackles the creation of different academic writings that are useful and
relevant to the academic and professional world.

B. LEARNING OUTCOMES

After competing this 80- hour subject you as a learner should be able to acquire the

software applications. These applications do not need an internet connection to use them
instead these are easily accessible and available in your respective desktop and laptops.
