D-Touch Configuration and Performance

This isn't that hard, but still

There are a few things that you need to configure to get D4T runnig properly in D-Touch

Installation of D-Touch

1. You need to own D-Touch. It's currently only available through the Amazon app store
2. Once installed, copy you Doom2.wad (iwad) into your device directory
.../Beloko/Doom/Full

Now you can run the app, goto GZDoom (marked green below), select your iwad you want to play, and
you're set!

Optional: Install custom mapsets

Just copy the .wad of the mapset you want to play into the
.../Beloko/Doom/Full/Wads

Running D4T in D-Touch

Once you have D-Touch set up, it's time to load D4T.

1. Copy the D4T.pk3 file into the folder

.../Beloko/Doom/Full/Mods
2. Run D-Touch app
3. Make sure you're still in GZDoom, then select the WADs button at the bottom
4. Press "Mods" button

5. Select D4T.pk3
notice how it shows you what's being loaded in command line style

6. Press "OK" button

7. Back in the main screen, you'll notice it will show in the Args line, it has already D4T.pk3 loaded there
(orange), then press "FULL" (green) to start playing
8. If you want to play a mapset with D-Touch, make sure you load it from the WADs->WADS section. Just
make sure the mapset is loaded BEFORE D4T. The args should look like this

Performance of D4T in D-Touch

Even though this mod was optimized as much as we could, mobile processors tend to not be the greatest
and the game can lag quite a bit. For that, the D-Touch developer added a nifty option to scale down
resolution to get better performance.

So, if the game is running slow, in the main screen of the app, select the gear icon
And change this to a higher value.

As the name implies, resolution is divided by that value, meaning, the bigger that value, the smaller the
resolution. Performance at the price of visual fidelity.

If you go too low, the standard HUD will be illegible, in which case, you can use the secondary HUD we
added, specifically designed to be legible in very low resolutions.

To use that hud, once in GZDoom go to

Options -> Shortcut to useful options -> HUD Type (screen size)
and move the slider to get Standard HUD, Big HUD, or no HUD
Custom Keys for D4T

Last thing to consider, D4T has 3 custom keys that you must bind in D-Touch. But you have to do a few
things to allow custom bindings for on-screen buttons.

Disclaimer: Button position will be different, since this is my personal config

While in a game, press the gear icon.

Then select "ADD/REMOVE BUTTONS"

Turn ON "show_custom"

Then you'll see the "custom" button. You need to press this to show the custom buttons

Then just go to the regular GZDoom customize keys, and bind keys for

Mod Switch / Quit Demon

Throw Grenade
Quick Melee

For D-Touch, is not neccesary to bind "Multi Jump" key. You can double jump by using the regular
"Jump" button.
NOTE: D-Touch, very annoyingly closes the expanded custom buttons every time you save/load, press
the map key or open the game menu. Nothing I can do about this. I consider this a bug of D-Touch. So
you'll have to be expanding the custom keys constantly.
