HARRELL HORNE INTEGRATED SCHOOL

#3 Basa St., Phase 2-A, Bahayang Pag – Asa Subd.,

Molino 5, Bacoor City, 4102 Cavite

Grade 9 Math
Topics:
 Radicals
- An expression that uses a root, such as square root, cube root
- Real World Examples of Radical Expressions
o Radical expressions are common geometry and trigonometry especially when
calculating triangles. In the fields of carpentry and masonry, triangles often come into
play when designing or constructing buildings that require angle measurements.
 Parallelograms
- A flat shape with 4 straight sides where opposite sides is parallel.
- Real life examples of parallelograms
o A parallelogram is a two-dimensional shape that has opposite sides that are equal in
length and parallel to each other, and opposite angles that are equal. Rectangles, squares
and rhombuses are all parallelograms, so any object that has one of these shapes is a
parallelogram.

Grade 8 Math
Topics:
 Linear Inequality
- Inequality is a sentence using a symbol other than the equals sign (=). The most common
inequality symbols are <, ≤, >, and ≥.
- A system of linear inequalities is often used to determine the best solution to a problem.
This solution could be as simple as determining how many of a product should be
produced to maximize a profit or as complicated as determining the correct combination
of drugs to give a patient. Regardless of the problem, there is a theorem in mathematics
that is used, with a system of linear inequalities, to determine the best solution to the
problem.
 Linear Function
- Linear functions are those whose graph is a straight line.
- Real life application of Linear Function might draw from measurement, circumference of a circle,
miles per gallon, basic economics
 If-then Statement
- Conditional sentences are statements of an “if-then” or “unless-then” situation (although
“then” is not used), or a probability. These sentences present situations and their possible
outcomes.
