C.2 PADEYE, SLING & SHACKLE DESIGN OF DECK EXTENSION ATTAKA " D "
PLATFORM

Padeye, sling and shackle for module 1 will be designed together with module 2. The biggest load to be used for the
analysis.

SLING DESIGN

The selection of sling type to be used for lifting is based on its breaking strength capacity, given by sling's
manufacturer. Force data from SACS output is compared with this capacity, with considering the requirement of
API RP-2A section 2.4.2f., which

Forces
Maximum Sling Force = 3.603 kips ( without load factor)
Design Axial Force ( P ) = 4 x 3.6 = 14.4 kips
= 6.5 tons

Selection of Sling Type

The characteristic of sling to be used for this deck extension module lifting is as follows:

Diameter = 7/16 in
Minimum Breaking Strength = 8.9 tons (Bright, I.W.R.C.)

SHACKLE DESIGN

Similar with sling, the shackle is selected based on its manufacturer's rated working load with minimum safety
factor of 3, according to the requirement in API RP-2A section 2.4.2f.

Forces
Maximum Sling Force = 3.6 kips
Design Axial Force ( P ) = 3 x 3.6 = 10.8 kips
= 4.9 tons

Selection of Shackle Type

The type of shackle to be used for this deck extension module lifting is as follows:

Type = G-210 S-215

Safe Working Load = 6.5 tons
Pin Diameter = 1 in

PADEYE DESIGN

This padeye is intended to have the capability in resisting the lift forces of deck module during lifting operation.
The design include horizontal force of 5% of static sling force and dynamic factor of 2.0 according to the API RP 2

IV METHOD OF ANALYSIS

To represent the existing member affected by the additional extension, part of the cellar deck framing will be
modelled in the structural model for the deck extension. The structure will be modeled and analyzed by SACS
program with static analysis method. For earthquake analysis will use static equivalent method. The overall
structure was assumed adequate to accommodate this additional.

Stress analysis of new structures will be done with several assumptions as follows:

1 Member lengths are assumed from node to node.

2 Loading is generally assumed, as blanket area load that will be described in the section design loading.
3 Connection between new structure and existing structure will be considered as fixed connection.
4 Self-weight is considered by 10% contingency to accommodate steel plate out of computer modeled.
5 Static equivalent analysis is used to calculate distribution of seismic forces. The seismic load will be
calculated by taking of the X, Y, and 0.5 of the Z responses, refer to API RP 2A (WSD) 20th Edition
section C 2.3.6. Seismic load are working on each beam subject to have gravity loads.
6 Self weight and deck plates loads only will be considered for lift analysis. Sludge shield is assumed to be
lifted as separately module. For lift analysis, the deck extension its self to be divided by two modules.
Module 1, for west side of 1A. And Module 2, for south side of 1A.
7 Additional load of deck extension to previous structure will be considered for foundation analysis. That
will be compared with the existing pile capacity. No detail pile stress analysis is carried out, however
appraisal of pile axial load factor safety will be based on the Llyod's inspection report for Attaka D
platform - table "Pile Axial Capacity safety factors" based Society's loads and Mc Clelland's capacity
curves, Borehole 1A.

V. DESIGN LOADING

The platform has been analyzed both for gravity and lateral loads.

V.1. Gravity Loads

Gravity loads, which can be evaluated as a function of model member volumes are generated by
providing appropriate densities. Other non-generated loads are calculated externally to the model and
input as either member or nodal loads.

a. Structural Dead Weight

The structure dead weight will be taken as the self weight of structure modelled and not modelled
including deck plates, stairway.

- Self weight of structure modelled. computer generated + contingency 10%

- Deck plates. 7.6 psf as area loads
- Stairway. 1.2 kips as point loads

V.2. Lateral Loads

a. Wind Loads

Wind load, which will be considered in the analysis, is subject to act at both X and Y direction.

The pressure is given by:

P = 0.00256 Cs V2 (psf)
Cs = 1.0 for overall
Operating wind pressure :
P = 2.72 psf
Extreme storm wind pressure :
P = 3.70 psf

Projection area for each wind directions will be as follows:

I. INTRODUCTION

Unocal Indonesia intends to upgrade the existing power transformer, to replace and relocate sub-standard load
break oil switch at attaka D platform. The existing transformer on the roof of switch gear room and will be
removed. The replacement transformer will be located at cellar deck, south west of A1, and occupy the location
of existing ansul unit. Therefore the ansul unit and associated piping have to relocate. The platform needs to
be modified to accommodate these changes. The replacement load break oil switch is located adjacent to
present oil switch D1, which are sufficient place at external of switch gear room south.

Size of the modules deck extension are 23.0 ft x 7.8 ft and 6.5 ft x 10.1 ft. they will be at cellar deck, south side
and west side of A1.

This report covers the deck extension analysis to accommodate ansul unit, new transformer, and maintenance
access includes sludge shield. The strength analysis to be considered by static loading only.

Deck extensions will be checked and calculated by local analysis only, as separate structure with the existing
platform, based on TRIPATRA’s scope of work. The existing platform was assumed adequate to accommodate
the deck extensions.
