v1.1 (10/31/2018)
Rules - Use the core game rules for Solo mode except for the following changes or additions:
1. Defeated Heroes : If any Hero in the Alliance loses all of their HP, the game ends and you immediately
move to scoring.
2. Setup Changes :
a. (Optional): Instead of drafting your Alliance, randomly draw 4 Heros and they become your team. Add
+5 points to your final score.
b. (Optional): Shuffle all three levels of upgrades cards together to form a single upgrade deck. Ignore the
rules about changing out decks for the particular XP thresholds. Add +5 points to your final score.
c. For this Solo variant, you will only use 1 Quest. Randomly draw a Final Enemy Quest to determine who
you will face for this game. If you do not defeat this enemy, lose -7 points from your final score.
d. For the Dungeon, set up the starting tile as normal and then randomly shuffle the Level I Dungeon tiles
and lay out 3 of them, facedown, adjacent to the 3 doors of the Starting tile. Randomly orient the
rotation of the tiles as you place them. Next shuffle the Level II Dungeon tiles and lay out 3 of them in a
similar way except adjacent to each Level I Dungeon tiles. Finally do the same for the Level III Dungeon
tiles to make up the last 2 spots of the Dungeon. When you finish, the layout should look like this:
III II III
II I II
I Start I
3. Revealing Tiles : If there are no enemies in your room and you are adjacent to a doorway, you may spend 1
Speed point to flip the connecting Dungeon tile over (Don’t worry about how you flip it, just don’t look at it
before you place it down) and immediately place all Monster(s) and/or Challenge Tokens depicted on it facing
the Hero’s direction.
a. After a tile is revealed in this way, you do not have to attempt opening the door. But if you choose to do
so, the 1 Speed used to reveal the tile counts towards that opening attempt, meaning a normal door can
be opened without spending another Speed Point. A Level I Locked/Hidden Door would just need 1
more Speed Point spent to insure success. Etc.
b. Lose -5 points at the end of the game for each non-revealed tile left in the Dungeon.
4. Hero Movement : A Hero may choose to Attack and then Move or make an Attack in the middle of their
movement. For example, a Hero with 5 speed could Move 1 space, Attack 1 enemy, and then use the final 4
Speed leftover to do other things such as move or open doors.
5. Solo/Coop AI Deck : When an AI card is drawn telling you to remove a Dungeon tile from the staging area,
instead you must remove any 2 Upgrade cards in the offer from the game.
