The water on earth is constantly changing through a process called the water cycle. As runoff, water flows into
bodies of water. Plants return water to the air through transpiration. Water bodies return water to the air through
evaporation.
16. In the statement, “as runoff, water flows into bodies of water”, which of the statements below is the correct transformation into
an if-then form?
A. If the water runs off, then it flows into the bodies of water.
B. Water runs off, then it will flow to the bodies of water.
C. If water flows into the bodies of water, so it runs off.
D. A body of water will always runoff.
For items 18-19, refer to the statement “ If a figure is a square, then it has 4 equal sides.”
TEST II. Directions: Fill in the blanks with the correct word/s that will make the statements correct.
A (1)conditional/if-then statement is composed of two clauses: the if-clause and the then-clause. We can denote a
letter for each, p for the (2) if-clause and q for the (3)then-clause. The statement is in the form (4) “if p, then q”. Conditional statements
are formed by joining two statements p and q using the words “if” and “then”. The p statement is called the (5)hypothesis and the q
statement is the (6) conclusion.
A conditional statement has a (7)truth value of either true (T) or false (F). For us to know the truth value of the statement
we are going to use the (8)truth table that will help us to determine the truth value of the conditional statement. The statement will only be
false when the hypothesis is (9)true and the conclusion is (10)false.
PARTI:
Directions: Write a conditional statement about the situation below and state its converse, inverse, and contrapositive. Write your answer
in the space/column provided.

deadline.”

can be applied in real life. Cite concrete examples of application. Add also, the parts of the lesson that you still find confusing, if any.
