Standard Operating Procedure

For Students

Instructions:

● Students must check their registered email id minimum 15 mins before the
commencement of the exam for the email with exam link for each paper .
● Each day a separate link will be emailed to you for the specific paper.
● In case of challenges faced by the candidate, same must be brought to the notice
of the supervisor immediately.
● The Question paper consists of.Total of 60/40/20 marks questions. There is no
negative marking.
● You are expected to be equipped with paper, pen and calculator for rough work
and necessary calculations as per subject requirement.
● In case of Differently Abled/LD students 20 minutes extra will be given to
complete the Exam. Other rules applicable as per the University of Mumbai’s
rules & regulations.
● Revaluation of the papers will NOT be allowed/ available as it is an online
examination.
● The students must ensure that they make themselves properly aware of the
syllabus, paper pattern, timetable and technical platform used by UM-GICED.
Thus they must take the examinations as per the time-table schedule prescribed
by the UM-GICED and should make requisite arrangements (Smartphone/
Laptop/Tab/ Desktop/any other gadget, Internet Connectivity) to appear for the
online examination.
● Students should not resort to the use of unfair means while attempting the
examination. UM-GICED will initiate action for use of unfair means as per
University rules and regulations.

● Students should refer to and follow instructions given by UM-GICED.

● Process:

Step 1: Students are required to login through registered email only and then click on
the Link mailed to them to give the exam on time.

Step 2: The first section consists of the student details. Write correct roll no., course
and registered email before submitting the answers.

Step 3:The second section will consists of MCQs. Each question will carry 2 marks.

Step 4: In the third section the students will have to answer the questions in short.
They can either write the answer in the space provided below the question ​OR
they can write the question as well as the answer on a paper and upload the
image/PDF file of it using the ​ADD FILE​ option at the end of the section.
 Step 5:In the fourth section the students will have to write long answers. They can
either write the answer in the space provided below the question ​OR they can
write the question as well as the answer on a paper and upload the image/PDF
file of it using the ​ADD FILE​ option at the end of the section.

Step 6: The students are expected to upload or attach the files within the given time
only. No extra time will be provided for the same.

Step 7: Incase of any difficulty in uploading a file, student is required to immediately

intimate the Supervisor.

Step 8: Ensure that all details are correct and all questions are answered before
submitting the paper.

NOTE:

● Students should fill their valid and active Email Id, as all the further
communication and instructions regarding the Online Exam and the Online
Exam itself will be conducted on the same.
● Students are advised to check the UM-GICED website periodically for
notifications regarding examination.
