Dear Freshmen,

Bonjour! ¡Hola! Hello! Welcome to the illustrious Douglas County High School! I hope that
this past year has been wonderful, given the unique circumstances. I want to personally invite you
to represent your school in the best way possible and that begins with joining our SGA family here
at DCHS. No, this is not a club that studies government.

Student Government Association (SGA) is the club that is responsible for advocating
school spirit at Douglas County High School. If you’re interested in planning events such as
homecoming, pep rallies, dances and much more, SGA is the perfect place for you! If you want to
join a family that is close-knit and always have each other's back, you should join SGA. SGA is the
most unique club here at Douglas County because it is 100 percent student run and we do so
much, which provides many volunteer opportunities while exhibiting school pride.

When I was a freshman back in the fall of 2017, I was very nervous about adapting to this
new environment and finding new friends. One thing that made the transition easier was joining
SGA, where I got to form numerous bonds. In fact, I was the first freshmen officer in SGA at DCHS
ever. In this club, you are not only able to meet people in your grade, but you can meet people in
other grades.

So, I hope that you decide to join our SGA family to show your Tiger Pride. Once again
WELCOME TO THE BEST SCHOOL IN THE WORLD, DOUGLAS COUNTY HIGH SCHOOL.

What is SGA?
SGA is an organization that represents the student body at DCHS with multiple events during the
school year and community services projects.
SGA Mission:
“To assemble a Family comprised of Leaders, Innovators, and Fun-Loving Individuals whose
purpose is to embody School Spirit and Tiger Pride” ​
SGA Core Values:
Leadership​, Creative-Thinking​, Communication​, Dedication​, Collaboration​, and Servitude​
Events & Community Service Projects Include:
Homecoming, Toiletry Drive, Lip Sync Battle, Clothing Drive, Hoopcoming, School Supply
Drive, Talent Show, Volunteer activities, Pep Rallies, Becca’s Closet, Homecoming Dance, and
many more.
Membership Dues: includes club t-shirt and club activity fees
