To whom it may concern,

Based on my research of Grove City College and the exceptional reputation of its
Entrepreneurship program, I am confident and excited to share my character and achievements
with you, knowning that my beliefs and lifestyle are fully aligned with the goals of GCC.

First of all, my great interest in Entrepreneurship can be seen in my decision to diligently create
and run a small business of selling lightweight, hand-painted jewelry. I opened my first Etsy shop
in May of 2021 to sell earrings and cards online, and since then I have expanded to sell in person
at craft shows and coffee shops as well. For example, I have a booth at Strawberry Days annually
and make weekly sales at Beans on Broad in Grove City.

Additionally, through my entrepreneurial experiences, I have learned an expansive set of skills

that will surely give me the ability to contribute to my business-related classes and benefit my
classmates and the community of GCC as a whole. Over the course of about two years, I have
learned trend research, product photography, SEO, customer service, design, social media
marketing, website-building, shipping, and accounting. In addition to these skills, I have also
experimented with a variety of other skills to create products, such as engraving glass, burning
wood, making jewelry, doing calligraphy, and painting. I believe all of these skills have made me
more well-rounded, knowledgeable, responsible, and hardworking, and will continue to benefit
me throughout my college years as I continue to run a business and expand my knowledge.
These skills have also given me the tools I need to help others in my community. For example, for
the past two years I have helped kids make bracelets and crafts every month at the Hogar
Prometido, an orphanage in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala. I have also volunteered to create videos
and other graphics for my school and church, such as a graduation video during covid, and online
Christmas play, and a service project summary. Additionally, I use my organizational skills and
creativity to assist my school's librarian with decorating bulletin boards, organizing and labeling
books, and helping kids behave. Lastly, I was able to serve at Seneca Hills Bible Camp for the past
two summer, diligently working in the kitchen to prepare and serve food, organizing the craft
barn and helping campers with their projects, cleaning the buildings, and being a camp
counselor. I plan to continue serving at Seneca Hills and other various service projects thoughout
my college years, as the opportunities arise!

In addition to my stewardship of the skills and gifts I have been given, I believe my past
experiences have also made a strong contribution to the development of my character and
world view. I grew up in Grove City, PA and my parents and brother attended GCC, so I am very
familiar with the college and area in general. However, I have been living in Guatemala for the
past seven years, where I have learned many things that I would not have otherwise had the
opportunity to learn. Firstly, by living in Guatemala, I have learned to be adaptable and content in
whatever situation. There have been many challenges and changes that have come from my
moving to Guatemala, but I have been able to submerge myself in the Guatemalan culture by
learning Spanish, seeing places, and getting to know my classmates. Additionally, I believe God
has formed me into His humble servant through the many experiences I had in Guatemala. I am
also so much more grateful for the strong friendships and Christian community I can enjoy and
participate in at GCC.

In conclusion, I truly believe I am a good candidate for the Entrepreneurship program at GCC
because of my passion for entrepreneurship, exceptional academic record, heart for service, and
experience in Guatemala.

Thanks you so much for considering my application, and I look forward to your response!

Sincerely,

Ellie R. Gardner
