Step 1: Find the relevant research
- Use Google Scholar to find quality resources
- Use your university’s libarary for paid resources
- Snowball reference lists from journal articles
- Review related dissertations

Step 2: Log, catalogue & synthesise

- Log all ypur sources into reference software
- Build a literature catalogue in Excel
- Step back, zoom out and synthesise

Step 3: Outlining & writing up

- Draw up an outline/clear structure first
- Don’t fall into the trap of perfection
- Ask a friend to read and explain back
