Exercise B. Which of the pictures is being described? Where was the holiday?

The picture being described is picture letter D, which illustrates the frightening experience the
girl had in south Africa.

A) Think of an example of ONE of the ideas below and write a short paragraph about it
using expressions with get.

5. We’re doing something but weren’t getting anywhere

To get away.

Bad days are a lesson for tomorrow, when we face them, we learn. First, bad days are a sign that
something is going wrong. Whether you feel overwhelmed or just had a bad experience, having a
bad day is something to take a note from and do better next time. Also, when you have a bad day
you don’t even noticed the lesson until the day finishes. We need time to process all the
information that has been going through our mind all day, so giving ourselves time to rest and
sleep can also provide us information on how to do better next time, because a rested mind is a
healthy and clear mind. In addition, bad days can teach us more than a single class. Although it
seems that bad days have nothing but bad news, you would be pleased to know that when you
have a bad experience and you recover from that, you better yourself and become more resilient.
In conclusion, even though having a bad day seems nothing but bad news, it can be a sign for us
to correct things, giving ourselves time to rest can help us cope better with information, so next
time you have a bad day I’ll suggest taking time to learn from it and not just simply try to get
away from it. Because when you just simply try to get away from it you don’t face the situation,
and by facing the situation is when we truly learn new things, we weren’t able to see.
