I. Concept Statement: State the vision for your capstone project in a few sentences.

a. Content: The audience members are able to participate in the art piece by not
only able to view the work but also able to touch and move around pieces of the
work to create a new art piece. This is intentional because it allows the
participants to express their interpretation of the emotions through moving the
pieces around. It demonstrates to the audience that color and shape has the
ability to affect how you interact with them as well as that everyone will change
the piece differently.
b. Form: I will be creating this piece by painting a non representational work that
represents an emotion using a color that has connotations of that emotion. Once
I finish this piece I will cut up into pieces and place velcro on the backs to allow
the viewers to be able to place the pieces on the board and stay in place. The
velcro will allow it to be easy and simple for the viewer to change the work.
II. Description
a. This art piece is fall under the genre of an interactive art
b. This falls with the trajectory of my work because I like creating artwork that
allows people to be able to participate in them as well as learn something new.
c. It provides an interactive experience that allows the viewer to touch the piece
and move around pieces of it to create new one.Using color and non-
representational work to see if the audience members will create a different
piece based on the work in front of them and to not only express that colors have
different meanings to them but also that everyone will have a different
perspective of them as well.
D.My project fits into the larger social context because it shows that people have
the ability to interpret colors and emotions differently. I am using this art piece to
truly see if that is true by using specific colors as well as making a non
representational pieces
III. I will create three different works based on emotions in a non representational way. I
will put out each piece on several different days and come back to document what new
piece has been created.I will also need to have this set up in a place where there are a
lot of people to ensure that there will be participation of the work. The piece will be
attached onto a posterboard via velcro to allow for people to be able to participate in the
piece and change it as well.

VI. I have previously created two art pieces that focus on the ideas of color psychology
as well as using non-representation forms representing emotions. I feel as though
through those previous project experiences I am prepared for this one. I also feel as
though through both of those projects. I did quite a lot of research on different colors
and their connotations to them as well. In creating this piece I want to not only be able
to learn more about the topic I choose but also be able to create something that others
were able to interact with.
