MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL

ON JULY 15, 2007 AT THE FATHER’S CONVENT

11. CALL TO ORDER AND PRELIMINARIES

The meeting was called to order at 10:05 a.m. by the PPC President
and Presiding Chair, Bro. Luis Damuggo. An Opening prayer followed
which was led by Bro. William Dulnuan.

111. READING AND CORRECTION OF THE MINUTES OF THE LAST


PPC MEETING

The secretary read the minutes of the regular meeting held on


June 17, 2007 and the following corrections were made:

a. Under Other Matters

Regarding the Tongtongan, it will be restated to read;


- “ No Tongtongan will be held this year but parish
assemblies will be conducted. The parish assembly is
scheduled on August 24-26, 2007.”

b. Still under Other Matters, Schedule of Barangay Masses

- the schedule of the mass in Banga is fifth Sunday and not


fourth.

c. Delete “acting”, just Secretary

After the corrections, it was moved and seconded that the minutes
of the last meeting as corrected be approved and made part of the
records of the PPC.
1V. BUSINESS ARISING FROM THE MINUTES

4.1. Fr. Val informed the body that the members of the committee
to review the PPC Constitution and By-Laws. According to him this was
the result of the suggestions of the PPC members which was written and
submitted during the June 17 PPC meeting. The members are as
follows:

Fr. Val will make the schedule for the committee meetings and it
was suggested that the first meeting will be held after the Parish Fiesta.

4.2. The Program of Activities on July 22 was finalized as follows:


8:00 a. m – Procession
8:30 - Holy Mass
10:00 - Program
12:00 noon – Lunch
1:00 p. m - Parlor Games

4.2.1. Procession

The KC will be responsible including the decoration of


the platform for the Statue of St. Mary Magdalene.
The order of procession will be as follows:

color guards, priests, and religious sisters
BECs - Upper Ayangan
Lower Ayangan
- Boliwong, Cudog, Burnay, Tungngod and
Bayyucan-
Ibulao,

HNS, CFC, KC
*Mandated Organizations should wear their
uniforms
*During the Procession, the St. Mary Magdalene
song will be sung hence copies of the song
should be made available.

4.2.4. Solicitation Letters for Common lunch

It was informed to the body by the PPC Secretary that


to date, 16 letters were distributed to the different
Poblacion BECs and mandated organizations. A quick
assessment of the status of solicitation revealed that an
estimated P6,000.00 plus have already been collected. It
was then agreed that more effort should be exerted by all
concerned to increase the collection to at least P20,000.00.
BEC Cudog volunteered to get one solicitation letter. It was
then suggested by Fr. Val that for the next solicitation,
amounts should be provided for donors to select and check
the amount that they want to donate.

4.3. Parish Assembly on August 24-26

Fr. Val informed the body that BECs will make an


assessment of their own BECs. Mandated organizations will assist
the BECs in their assessment.

V. BUSINESS AGENDA.

5.1. Filipino Mission Sunday

The last Sunday of July is Filipino Mission Sunday. Fr. Val


announced that all BEC Chairpersons will each be given 20 mission
envelopes for distribution. The deadline for submission will be on July
29, 2007.

5.2 YEASTAKO – Vicariate Newsletter

Fr. Val informed the body that Fr. Victor de Guzman is now
in-charge of the publication of the YEASTAKO, the vicariate newsletter.
This is published quarterly and BECs and mandated organizations may
subscribe to the YEASTAKO.

5.3. Launching of the Holy Family Fund

*The Holy Family Fund will be launched on July 22, 2007


during the mass. Empty mineral bottles with stickers will be distributed
to families for them to put coins and will offer them after it is full or at
least half full. A catechism regarding the project will also be distributed
during the launching.
5.4. Parish Matters and Concerns

5.4.1. YEAST Committees


*The Parish is currently preparing the offices of the YEAST
Committees.

5.4.2. Venues of PPC Meetings and Other Gatherings


* PPC meetings and other gatherings will soon be at the
Ladies Dorm Building.

 The Girls Dorm is being planned to become a pastoral


Center but will be assessed for repair first. As a
pastoral center, it will have accommodation facilities.
 There was a suggestion for the possibility of an extension
of the Parish kitchen and also to transfer the storage of
the PPC Cooking paraphernalia to which Fr. Val agreed to
look into this.

5.4.3. Sunday Prayer Meeting Guides

* The PPC President asked Fr. Val if BECs can avail of


copies of the Sunday Prayer Meeting guide which they
will pay for. After some discussion, it was agreed that
BECs willing to have copies will signify their intention
and Fr. Val will inquire on the cost of said copies.

5.4.4. Training and Commissioning of Communion Ministers

*The training and commissioning of both old and new


communion ministers will be held on August 18, 2007
from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon.

5.4.5. Presentation of KC Program of Activities

*Bro. Gerry Nanglegan presented the KC program of


activities and Fr. Val responded that these activities
will be coordinated with the different YEAST
committees. He further said that after the review of
the PPC By-Laws and the conduct of the Parish Pastoral
Assembly, action plans shall have been prepared for
implementation already.

5.4.6. Proposed Pullaan Chapel

Bro. Robert Bumanghat raised to the body the previous


commitment of Fr. Felix to provide hardware materials for their
chapel. These materials include cement, steelbars, common wire
nails (cwn) and others. While Fr, Val explained that he has no
available funds for the Pullaan Chapel yet, he said he will try to
ask the vicariate if there are available funds for this type of
projects. Fr. Val then requested Bro. Robert to submit the list of
materials to be need for the chapel. Bro. Gerry Nanglegan also
made the suggestion that mandated organization should also come
in to assist Pullaan.

5.4.7. Proposed Comfort Room for Men

Sis. Angie Tundagui inquired to the KC and HNS


representatives on when they will start the improvement of the
comfort room for men at the back of the church. In response, Bro.
Gerry Nanglegan said they will take it up in their next meeting.

VI. Adjournment

There being no more matters to be taken up, the meeting


adjourned at 12:30 noon. Fr. Val led the closing prayer and blessing.
