Theme 2 Chapter 1
(The world around me) (Our natural world)
 Nonliving and living things:-

1) Living: - like dogs – cats

– birds – human s -plants.


2) Nonliving: - like school -

bike - ball.

 Plant parts:-

1) Roots to absorb water.


2) Stem to carries the water from roots to

the flower.
3) Leaves.

4) Flowers.

 Plant needs:

1) The plant needs soil to hold on by its


roots and provides it with water.
2) The plant needs air to stay alive.
3) The plant needs water to absorb
nutrients.
4) The plant needs sunlight to power the
process of making food.
 How does human and plant get air ?
 The human get air through their mouth

and nose.
 The plants get air through tiny holes on
leaves called stomata.

**The brown bear:-

1) The features of the brown bear:-


 Has thick fur.
 Has a sharp claw.

 Has a strong tooth.


2) It's habitat :-
 It lives in the forests have trees and rocks

to climb.

Why does the brown bear have these


features?
-To be able to live.

* Animal features:-
There are some features help the animals to
eat, move and hide.
Like:-
 Wings make the eagle fly (move).
 The black spots make the cheetah hide
easier (hide).

 The legs make the dogs move.

 The big teeth make the lion eat meat.

 The black lines make the tiger hide.

 The beak helps the chicken to eat.


 The fin helps the fish to swim.

 Fennec big ears help it to hear the insects,


small mammals and birds to eat them.

There are some animals can live among us like
cats, dogs and hamster.
** Bigger or smaller:-

The differentiability between the small thing


and the bigger ones: by comparing some grasses
and shrubs with each other.

meaning of it.

** The five senses:-

1) Ears to hear.

2) Nose to smell.
3) Mouth to talk (tongue to taste).
4) Eyes to see.

5) Hands to touch.

What can we see in the daytime sky?

We can see sun


The sun helps us to see our shadow.

What would your shadow be?
1) If the sun is near, the shadow will be big.

2) If the sun is far, the shadow will be small.

**Investigating the night sky:-

The moon phases.


1) Full moon, when the earth is located

between sun and moon.

2) New moon is the first lunar phase.


3) Crescent it appears early in its first quarter
or late in its last quarter.
4) Waning crescent the moon turn and to be

smaller.
5) Third quarter the last quarter of the moon.
