The Communicators
Dr. B
Module 1
We will discuss our chosen organizations for this project, our team expectations,
our team charter, and our project planning template. The Communicators will be providing
an assessment of one of three enterprises we have selected to review. The purpose of this
paper is to discuss the three organizations we would like to choose from. Additionally, this
paper will provide a general outline of how the Communicators will approach this project,
Our Organizations
We have decided to discuss the following three organizations; the Federal Crop
Insurance Corporation, the United States Postal Office, and the Corporation for Public
Broadcasting. We chose these agencies as they seemed the most interesting to us. We
purposefully chose three organizations in different sectors to diversify our knowledge and
research.
Formed in 1938 and expanded into public law in 1980, the Federal Crop Insurance
Corporation provides United States Farmers and other agricultural businesses with

and maintain their farmland. It would be interesting to learn more about the business model
and how it helps ensure we continue to see produce and products on supermarket shelves.
We understand that they insure the farmers that grow our food. However, it would
be interesting to learn more about them. As well as learn more about their business model.

has gone through many changes, including names, the current being, the United States

1970. The USPS is not just a beloved U.S. service. Per USPS (2020) they handle 48% of
the world’s mail, are domestically larger “than McDonald’s, Starbucks and Walmart

We had our first official team meeting on August 25th via Zoom. We discussed our
team expectations and charter. We concluded to make decisions by majority rules. We will
discuss our options and then choose the one most of us to feel comfortable with.
We have also set some ground rules for our teamwork, including the following; to
create deadlines that work for everyone. We will also develop project outlines to have
everyone informed and aware of due dates. In addition, we all want to be “team players”
and have decided that if someone cannot complete his or her assignment, it is necessary to

let the group know so we can offer our support. It is also crucial for us to respond promptly
Furthermore, we will be respectful of each other and our opinions. We also will be
mindful of everyone’s needs and concerns and help each team member succeed. Finally,
we all will be creative and have references to back up our claims. We will not tolerate late
work. And we will not be silent in the group chat or not help actively complete any of our
tasks. We will not attack someone for their personal opinion or values. Instead, we want to
challenge opinions, respectively. We will also not tolerate tardiness in our Zoom meetings.

urgent matters, due dates, and reminders. We will also use GroupMe to answer questions
about the assignment. We will also hold Zoom meetings whenever needed, most likely
every week, to go over the next projects and how to delegate the tasks and when they should
be completed. The Communicators will use Google Docs as the primary source of
collaboration on the deliverable packages throughout this process. Working with Google
Docs, and communicating through its chat function coupled with the chat and discussion

Collaboration Method(s)
Our team will collaborate via Google Drive. Florentina Lang will upload all
necessary information and documents to our team drive, and we will complete
assignments by collaborating via the comment section on Google docs. We will make
annotations and ask questions, offer advice, and feedback to each other’s work. We will
finish each assignment the day before it is due so that we have an extra day to discuss any
finalizations and last-minute changes. We want to make sure that everyone has a chance
to participate.
Conflict Management
As said, we have agreed to have assignments ready the day before they are due so
that we have an extra day to make any final changes. Having projects prepared the day
before will help us be on time and not be stressed about deadlines. We will keep each other
accountable to make sure everything is submitted on time. Mediation would take place
during a Zoom meeting with all conflicted parties. If mediation does not work in this
manner, a team discussion would be initiated with a majority rule decision applying.

Should this fail to resolve the conflict, we would ask the professor to mediate the dispute.
Florentina Lang will submit all assignments for the group via Canvas.
