How do you know?
2. Ask further questions such as Do the boy and girl like this movie? Do the mom
and dad like this movie? Why not? Encourage the student to talk about the
family members’ reactions and why they might be different.
3. Say Now let’s learn more about movies.

5. Underline the word boring as you say The movie is boring. Mime being bored.
Have the student repeat the sentence and copy your actions.

question.
3. Highlight the response as you say It was really scary. Mime being scared.
4. Ask Is really scary a little bit scary or very, very scary? Confirm that really scary
means very scary.
5. Read the response again and mime being scared. Have the student repeat the
response several times and copy your actions.
6. Ask the question and have the student respond.

1. Circle the zombies and ask What did you think of this movie? Was it funny?
Prompt the student to respond No! It was scary.
2. Underline the incomplete word scary and say There is one letter missing. Prompt
the student to draw a line from the correct vowel to the space.
3. Say Great! Let’s spell the word together. S-C-A-R-Y. Have the student spell the
word with you.
4. Say scary and have the student repeat it.
5. Repeat the process with the other word asking What did you think of this movie?
Was it exciting?
6. Mime one of the words and have the student guess what it is, rotating roles.
