How do you know?
2. Ask further questions such as Do the boy and girl like this movie? Do the mom
and dad like this movie? Why not? Encourage the student to talk about the
family members’ reactions and why they might be different.

Prompt the student to respond No! It was scary.
2. Underline the incomplete word scary and say There is one letter missing. Prompt
the student to draw a line from the correct vowel to the space.
3. Say Great! Let’s spell the word together. S-C-A-R-Y. Have the student spell the
word with you.
4. Say scary and have the student repeat it.
5. Repeat the process with the other word asking What did you think of this movie?
Was it exciting?
6. Mime one of the words and have the student guess what it is, rotating roles.

boring? Prompt the student to respond No! It was exciting.
2. Underline the incomplete word exciting and say There is one letter missing.

the word with you.
4. Say exciting and have the student repeat it.
