Qs.6 Ans.-The central message of the poem “Four Words for What We Want” is “language barrier” and
how it creates complication in social interaction. In my opinion, this applies to the modern world as well but
not as much as during Medieval Period which is the time when the poet Rumi lived. Language barrier can
still cause obstacle in communication, especially among people of different cultures because the difference
between social customs create much more confusion than just the obstacle of not having a common
language. As for language barrier, it has become less severe than the Middle Ages because there are
international languages or “lingua franca” through which people from different countries can communicate.
They also have various kinds of translators which make it easier.
