BEST PRACTICES IN RING SPINNING MAINTENANCE WITH USTER ® QUANTUM 3

The USTER ® QUANTUM 3 is well known as the yarn

quality assurance system for spinning mills. It’s the best
option for ‘management with quality in mind’. But USTER ®
QUANTUM 3 also offers much more as well. This
newsletter provides an example of how a spinning mill
used the YARN BODY TM and LED functions to improve its
maintenance practices.

caused by the front roller or middle cylinder. The origin of
the problem was related to some recent maintenance work,
during which the ring spinning machine had been stopped
without waiting for the next doff to be completed. This
meant that the load on all the pressure arms had been
released without generating a yarn break. When the
maintenance task was finished, the pressure arms were put
under load again – and this, on all of the 1200 spinning
positions, produced a single defect.
