INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE EXAM

Taken from Atty. Bruneson I. Alabastro’s Guidelines

SP-E (Atty. Emiko Antonette T. Escovilla)

THINGS TO DO BEFORE THE ONLINE EXAM

1) As previously advised, the student must have at least two (2) devices to facilitate
the conduct of this examination. One device will be used for the access to the
questionnaire on google classroom, and the other will be used to access ZOOM
during the exam.

2) The exam will use STUDENT CODE NAMES, and will not ask for your complete
name. DO NOT GIVE YOUR NAMES, only your codes, in order to avoid any
suspicion regarding partiality/bias in grading your exams.

3) Agree among yourselves in the class what codes to use. Your codes could be either
numerical (like the ones used before in law school, but different sequences) or
words (like your favorite food, cartoon character, an alias other than your fullname,
etc.). No curse words/offensive words will be used. Please ensure that no one has
the same codes as other students. AUTOMATIC -10% FOR BOTH if they do.
Once you have agreed on your respective code names, please have a list tallying
your real names with your code names. The list will be sent to me by the class
officer in charge ONLY after I have released your exam grades. So I will ask for it
in a separate post after your exams.

4) The exam will still ask you for your emails, but I will not check or decipher it
because I can hide it while checking your responses.

5) On the top-most, left portion of your yellow paper, write your code on the front
portion of 20 sheets of the yellow paper. Use only the front portion or side of the
yellow paper sheet that bears your name and do not write at the back portion or
the opposite side of any given sheet. At the bottom-most right portion of the same
side of your yellow paper that bears your name, write the page number on each of
the yellow paper sheets sequentially 1, to 20 on the 20 sheets.

6) Your yellow paper will serve as your designated answer sheets, all answers to the
questions must be in LEGIBLE handwriting and you are not allowed to write
anything on your yellow paper other than your final answers to the questions asked.
For answers, only BLACK or BLUE ink is allowed.

7) The questionnaire will be uploaded on Google Classroom and the student is NOT
AUTHORIZED to copy, screen-record, screen capture or otherwise appropriate
the questionnaire or any parts thereof for his or her personal use. The student is
expected to simply open the link that bears the exam questionnaire and begin
answering on his or her yellow paper immediately. Once through, the student is
required to exit the link, window, or page that bears the questionnaire and submit
his answers to the professor according the instructions provided below.

CONCISELY. Start each roman numeral on a separate page. An answer to a
sub-question under the same roman numeral may be written continuously on the

SPACE BETWEEN EACH SUB-QUESTION. In case of erasures, DRAW
A SINGLE LINE ACROSS THE INCORRECT
WORD/PHRASE/SENTENCE you wish to omit and begin writing on the
immediately succeeding space/line.

9) Your answer should demonstrate your ability to analyze the facts, apply the
pertinent laws and jurisprudence, and arrive at a sound or logical conclusion.
ALWAYS support your answer with the pertinent laws, rules, jurisprudence,
and the facts provided in the problem. Do not ASSUME OR ADD FACTS
which are not given in the problem.

10) A MERE "YES" OR "NO" ANSWER WITHOUT ANY

CORRESPONDING EXPLANATION OR DISCUSSION WILL NOT BE
GIVEN CREDIT. Always briefly but fully explain your answers although the
question does not expressly ask for one. Do not re-write or repeat the questions
in your Notebook. All answers should BE RESPONSIVE.

each number. Write either TRUE or FALSE IN FULL on your papers.

THINGS TO DO DURING THE EXAM:

13) During the exam, you will be recorded via ZOOM. You are not allowed to open
any window, page, or use your gadget or device for any purpose other than for
access to google classroom and the questionnaire. The purpose of this measure is
to ensure that no one will cheat during the exam. LOG IN AT LEAST 5
MINUTES BEFORE THE EXAM TIME. We will begin the exam by 1:30PM
and end by 3:30PM.

14) The device that you will use for ZOOM (like your smartphone, tablet, or another
laptop/computer) MUST BE DIFFERENT from your laptop/desktop/other device
where you will access google classroom and the questionnaire. The microphones
of your device/s for the ZOOM must be ON during the exam, but the same may
be muted at any time before the exam or after the student has finished. At all times,
your video cameras must be on, until otherwise instructed.

15) The device that you will use for ZOOM must be angled from your 4:00 or 8:00
angle, such that I will see you facing the screen of your laptops (or the
gadget/device that you will use to access google classroom and the questionnaire),
and nothing is on your person during the exam. This will allow me to see that
you are complying the instructions in Nos. 4 & 5. Here is a sample of an 8:00 angle,
the 4:00 is the opposite side of this angle:
