Tightening torques

In cases where no specific tightening torque is stated, Volvo's standard tightening torque shall be
used for each of the following thread dimensions and screw classes.

Clamps with break-off nuts

The optimum speed for the tightening tool should be (300 ± 100) rpm
Recommended tightening torque (3 ± 0,25) Nm (torque dependant on clamp diameter)
The clamp must be tightened until the nut-head breaks off;
The clamps may not be re-used

Caution
To reduce the risk of damaging the seal, it is very important to ensure that the nipple does
not move while tightening the nut to the specified torque. The nipple must therefore be held
to stop it from moving. The nipple nut may not be torqued until after this sequence is
complete.
