Instructions:
Use the questions in this document to prepare yourself for the Oct/Nov 2020 Online
Examinations. Create a file with appropriate answers, convert it to PDF and upload it to the
Practice Exam site. See page 3 of this document for instruction on creating an electronic
document should you plan to write your examination answers by hand.
Your answer file will not be marked and does not contribute to any formal examination
result.

1. Explain the safety measures an individual should take to protect him/herself against infection
with the COVID-19 virus. (10)

that the government can implement to support the South African economy. Your proposed

Preparing the answer file
1. Your answer file must contain ALL the pages you want to submit. Do not submit your scanned
pages one-by-one. Each time you upload a file it REPLACES the previous submission. Only
the last file received by Unisa will be marked.
7. Add your student number and the module code in the file name. That will assist you to select
the correct document to upload during submission.
2. Go to your specific examination site through the site tabs on the horizontal navigation bar.
Also check your Sites link in the top right-hand corner if you do not find the site on the
horizontal navigation bar.
3. Once the site has loaded, select the eAssessment tool from the left-navigation menu.
5. Select the assessment for which you want to upload the examination answer file by clicking
on the title of the assessment in the list. A new page will open.

Depending on the assessment criteria, you may be allowed to attach a file or perhaps multiple
files.
Under Attachments, click the Choose File button to browse for a file on your device.
Once you have attached your answer file, the name of the file, as well as the file size and
upload time stamp will be displayed under Attachments.
Tip: You may click Remove to remove the attachment if you selected the wrong file.
Tip: Select the honour pledge. Students MUST check the honour pledge before submission
if it appears on the screen. A student will not be able to submit the assessment if he/she did
not check the honour pledge.
When you are ready and satisfied that you have correct answer file, click the Submit button
to complete your assessment submission.
Tip: If you are not yet ready to submit, you may click Preview to preview the submission, or
Save Draft to save your submission and submit it later. Click
Cancel to exit the assessment without saving or submitting.
7. Submission confirmation

Once you have submitted your assessment, you will receive a confirmation message on the
screen. Make a screen copy for your records. In addition, if you have opted to receive email
notifications, you will also receive an email confirmation of your submission.
Below are the steps to scan your handwritten answer sheets and convert to an electronic file for
upload onto myUnisa. You will need a mobile phone loaded with a scanning application.
1. Go to the App store, search for and download the “Scanner App”
2. Make sure that the Scanner App is installed properly, and that the icon appears on your
mobile phone.

3. Take pictures of all your answer sheets and save them to the photo gallery to ensure that the
upload can be done successfully on the Scanner App.
4. Now launch the Scanner App on your mobile phone and click on the Options button (the plus
sign) to select an option on how to scan the answer sheet.
5. Select your preferred option whether to export the previous photos of the answer sheets or to
take new pictures.

6. Next, go to the gallery and select the answer sheets in chronological order.
7. Click Save and the document will be saved under your “Files” as a PDF File.
8. You can now upload the scanned document to myExams.

3. When accessing the App for the first time, please choose “Continue with
limited version”
4. You will be asked to allow the App access to certain folders on your mobile phone. Click on
“Continue”.

5. Tap on the camera to scan the paper.
6. If Single page, choose “Single” . If more than one page, choose “Batch” . If you
are using batch, click photo for each page and tick on Finish when you are done.

7. When done scanning it will give you a crop window

9. How to add/retrieve the document to upload. Click on “Open From” and choose your phone,
in the image below it will be “Galaxy S8”
10. A new window will open. Look for the folder “TapScanner” and double click on that folder.

11. Now choose the relevant document in that folder
12. You can now upload the scanned document to the Unisa exams platform.
