Background of the RPA expansion
The reason for the spread of RPA is the dramatic technological progress that enables it to be
realized.
Specifically, there has been significant progress in technology of the "eyes" and "hands"
that they use when working on computers, as well as “brain” to understand the work flow
and learn the work process. As a result, robots have become able to replace people's activity.

-Our bank Case study-

Effects of Introduction Example

Result of the introduction of RPA

(1) Increase in operational efficiency

[Before introduction]: 7 minutes/transaction, 2 thousand contracts / month = 233
Hours/month, 2.8 thousand / year
[After introduction]: 80% of the involved work time was cut. Monthly 50Hours /year,
600Hours (▲2.2 thousand hours)
(2) Restrain system investment
 In this case, inventing the system was initially considered (the initial estimate for the
RPA was 30M/10 months).
→ The investment is stopped by replacement to RPA . And, the lead time took only 3
months.
 By incorporating RPA into the system investment plan, the entire scale can be
downsized and lead time to set up can be shortened.

(3) Expandability into similar businesses (for more heightening benefits)

 “Entrusted operation business from Real Estate Investment Corporation” is almost
the same as this case (1.5 thousand transactions / month).
 It also enables to reuse developed robots into other similar business and to achieve
horizontal development in a short period of time.
