Should Pittbull Be Banned ?

How often have you seen Pitbulls running through the streets here in Lubbock. I
work down town and see them about every other day. We have had instances of the
dogs chasing after employees in our parking garage late at night. I know many feel they
are pets and great protectors but at what cost?. I for one love animals and especially
dogs. I hate to think about banning them but Lubbock does have issues with these pests
running around and more and more are threatening people.Cities throughout the country
are banning them, Denver, Miami, Most of Washington State and Missouri outright ban
them, and others such as NYC , Oklahoma, Iowa, Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Chicago,
Washington DC, and others are looking at banning them. 11 states have bans on them.
Maybe we must look again the opinion of people about pittbull.
Some people was very angry when pittbull as a kind of dog be banned by the
government. They said that pittbull just like another dog, they are very tame and not
brutal if you take care of their food. Banned pittbull mean banned all kind of dog. Next
reason is pittbull very useful to guard your house. Thief will think again to go into your
house if see a big dog like pittbull stay in your house. how you can protect your house,
if all pittbull be banned ?. Another think that if you ban one breed, then you open the
gate to ban another, then another. The next banned breed could be your own.
Having said that, however that Pit owners should be held to a higher standard than
others. If they get out of your fence, the fine should be substantial. Maybe you should
have to have a separate insurance policy if you wish to keep one.
Pit proponents will tell you that you only hear about the bad ones. I think the main
problem with pits are the ones from backyard breeders, not the dog. The next contra
argument to banned pittbull is pittbull have become friends to many family in this
country. They usually playing together and the family loves their pittbull very much. If
government banned pittbull, many family will lost their happiness because they can’t
play with their best friends, especially for adolescent and for adult.
But, government have another idea. Pittbull usually used for dog fighting, that
usually make them become brutal and dangerous for people. law will stop these people.
Dog fighting is against the law but it has not stopped the people who use these animals
as a sport or gambling tool. They have no soul. They will continue until caught and
punished, because of that pittbull must be banned. Next argue is many breeder usually
train their pittbull become dangerous to protect their house, consequently, pittbull’s
breeder should be forced to get special insurance and also must register those dogs and
get implanted tags with the owners information and insurance information in case
anything were to happen. It would not take much to mandate these people get special
licenses for these dogs. The last argue is some pittbull can spread rabies diseases to the
human. That become dangerous, and can make a pandemic. Before it become too late,
its better to banned pittbull from now
In conclusion, the government should use their decision to banned pittbull wisely.
Maybe every year, we must evaluate that decision.
